They would be incredibly stupid to pick Chase over the top O-Lineman in the draft. As neat as it would be to see, Joe would still get destroyed in the backfield. Bengals 1st 2 picks need to be the best O-Lineman available.

Nah, It wouldn’t be stupid. Joe would get the ball out quicker with Chase at his disposal.
Chase is a guaranteed bonafide stud. He is not busting. I challenge you to look at the last 15 drafts and look at the “can’t miss” o lineman selected in the top 15 every year. There are a ton of guys that just end up being average and a lot of busts mixed in. Judging by the Cincy Bengals draft history, they are more likely to select a bust o lineman than a good one that can protect Joe.
Take frickin Chase. He’s a guaranteed great player and you make your franchise QB happy. Use the rest of the draft on 50/50 if they will pan out offensive linemen. We know Chase. We know he will wreck shite. Who knows if that Pac 10 tackle can withstand the rigors and talent of the NFL? We don’t. Nobody does. Going from Pac 10 to NFL is like going from Junior High to College. If the Pac 10 tackle doesn’t dedicate himself to his craft and body, he will get Joe killed and Cincy will have wasted the 5th pick. Pick 6 hungry guys to compete in the later rounds instead of 1 guy at 5 who thinks he has made it.
