They have a purpose. It worked this game. The purpose isn't necessarily to be a regular yardage gainer. The purpose is to give the LBs and S something to worry about other than helping out the DBs.
I think, in this game is was mostly about the LBs- hence the runs between the tackles. It's no coincidence we threw across the middle quite a bit. Having those LBs worried about the LoS and not what was behind them helped.
Also worth noting we ran a lot of RPO (fake? i.e. weren't reading shite?) so for those to work, as fakeout or not, the QB has to run enough to keep the threat alive.
But I agree, he lacks vision as a runner. And he's not have live action running against defenses of the caliber of Miami and AU. He's yet to adjust. I predict he will adjust some, his runs will get better- some, and we will run him more- some.

It keeps the lb'ers a bit closer to the line so those quick slants work better.
Also he went for 8 yards down to the goal line and just missed a td. And picked up a first down running.
So unlike you I like what they did on those QB runs!

We ran those with Flynn. Things worked out that year.

He had a nice 8 yard run to setup the first TD. It’s good to mix them in to show that he can run if necessary.
We may have called a few too many, but the idea was to spread the D and make them account for everyone and I think we successfully did that. Most of our runs and passes came out of a similar formation where they didn't know for sure if we were handing off, having Burrow run or passing. It made them guess. Also, Burrow was still our 2nd leading rusher including sacks.

Enjoy the victory! In battle, nothing is perfect...

Auburn’s front 7 is also nasty as hell. Burrow is a decent athlete. He’s no mike Vick but at least he’s not Mettenberger statue like.

"elusive and can throw" ???

He is far more money bile and aware than Etling. Etling would have been sacked 4 or 5 times against Miami.

Moreau holds his block
That was a pathetic block. Even if Burrow was a great runner, id be against having him run the ball. We can't afford to have him injured

I think it helps keep it on the minds of the D coordinators. He did ok but Moreau should have held that one block and Burrow would have made that 1st down.
Hopefully some other TEs get in the rotation. Burrow looked to have a lane for a run on the 2pt conversion.

If Moreau holds his block on that one play,
Poor Foster got his shite pushed in on that play. I have to assume he didn't see the Davis coming because he slowed him down about as much as tall grass.
