The misdirection is going to kill us against Bama and I'm hoping it doesn't against Florida

that wildass battle scream on every play.
That too me by surprise since I was about 20 yards away at the bottom of the student section. i thought he was going to rip someones head off. love the fullback play this year.

I keep hearing how great the Bama LB's are. I rarely hear much about the LSU LB's.
They play 2 totally different defenses. Bama plays a 3-4 where the Linebackers are featured, and LSU plays a Nickel most of the time featuring the DB's and DL.
3-4 Outside linebackers are big fast guys. Barkevious Mingo is a DE in LSU's scheme, but would be a LB in Bama's scheme. LSU's outside linebackers are mostly converted DB's.

Our LB's are not as good as Bama's. That said, in todays CFB, having great linebacker play is not critical to being a good defense. You have only to look at LSU this season to know that is the truth. Our linebackers are adequate for the type of offenses we mostly play against, with Alabama the only team on our schedule this year that may possibly expose us. However, that game will not be won or lost on LB play. Their linebackers, while being good, have not gone up against the physical fb's that LSU will throw at them. If our O-line and D-line wins the battle in the trenches, the linebacker deficiency will be neutralized.
