Just saying it was clear to everybody. How can we run a spread offense with lee when he is not ready at this point of his career.
I thought he was pretty good for his first game...6-10 with 2 tds. Im not sure what you mean by it "was clear to everybody"? Hatch didnt go to many secondary receivers either for what it's worth. It's part of being a young QB...but it is definately a good idea to change things up with a no huddle spread with Lee.

you have to take in mind that it was first game of the season with auburn on the horizon. did not want to show too much of the playbook

The coaches showed me how much faith they had in lee when he got pulled so hatch could come in and run the 4th and two handoff to scott for the touchdown.

Huh?

you know the series lee threw behind dickson which was almost picked off. they promptly pulled him on 4th and two so hatch could handoff to scott. I don't think handing off is too difficult of an assignment to pull off. why did the coaches pull him?

Hatch threw to Dickson with three guys draped over him when Byrd was beating his man in single coverage...so what? Hatch is a threat to run the ball.. so in short yardage...might as well have him in there for the defense to worry about him. I dont think there is a connection with anything Lee did.

lsu will never run the spread like mizzou because mizzou does not run a balanced spread. they are as pass happy as the late 90's florida teams. they do that well though.

Mizzou's leading tailback broke 1,000 yards last year. They had a total of over 2400 rushing yards as a team. They aren't 1996 Nebraska, but they can run the ball.

I like hatch I think he will come into his own in about two games and then LSU will be a force to recon with

I don't think LSU can run the spread like mizzou this year maybe next year but not this year. why would we want to run someone else's offense anyway. We have won 2 bcs championships in 5 years doing business our way. what has mizzou done?

how many teams have enough speed on defense to match up with D-Byrd, Lafell, Mitchell(s), and TT all on the field at once?
Hatch can't get it to them deep.
Lee will throw as many to the other team, as to his own.

How will that style offense affect the rb's on the team. To go from a balanced offense with a role, to just the guy in the backfield who you occassionally do play action with.

not an expert, but i think the spread is suppose to makes up for a lack of speed and talent.
Ding! Ding! Ding! Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!
We would be a fool to go to a full spread attack. We have a power running game second to none why waste it? I LOVE our offense the way it is, it's so unpredictable.

I think it was Mike Torrico who said that we (LSU) ran the most balanced version of the spread he's seen. He said no offense should totally abandon the pro set offense. After watching USC on Saturday I can see his point.
