Neither team recorded a sack. Many thought (myself included) that OU would embarrass the LSU OL and have 4, 5, 6+ sacks

Through 11 games and prior to this matchup,, OU led CFB defenses with 41 sacks, LSU was ranked 33rd with 27 sacks. Kudos to the LSU OL for stepping up since they were giving up 2,25 sacks per game (96th in CFB) . OU sacked Ty Simpson 4x’s and dominated the ALA o-line

It's hard to sack a quarterback when he immediately throws it laterally 12 yards the second it touches his hands like he's playing a game of hot potato

We only completed 4 passes that traveled more than 2 yards pass the LOS.

Atkins coached scared, I'll take a sack or two to push it down the field.

MVB is soft.

Yep, after a TO, any coach with balls is taking a shot downfield. LSU played it safe after every turnover.

I thought Atkins coached that game perfectly to get the W except for the reverse deep in their territory.

You don’t play that defense normally with a qb that isn’t seasoned.

He called a game to give us a chance to win. OU won because they decided to go hurry up which was brilliant at that moment.

pretty much the whole second half the middle was wide open seven yards deep to the end zone. Not only did we not attempt to pass there, we didn't even have receivers run routes there. No wide receiver took it up on their self to make the decision based off a leverage of their man-to-man single coverage to try to work towards the middle despite the play call. And even if they did and even if he was all behind closer MVP was only going to throw the pass called from the sidelines

Yes, it's a crazy stat but LSU didn't have their statue in the backfield at all last night.
