Ok. He has said that he would like to run the ball. Does that make him a moron too?

Not White; it's Shelvin.

At first I was thinking it would be a terrible idea but my opinion has changed. If he still has the running ability and is a mismatch, use him. I would love to see Sean Payton have him on his team.

Charles Woodson was the best cornerback in the country, played WR and was a return man.
Brian Urlacher was a return man in college.
JJ Watt has played offense in the NFL.
Jabril Peppers at Michigan.
Julius Peppers in the NFL.
Taysom “Mothafrickin” Hill plays every position at an All-Pro level. (Would be the best LT in the league). *only slightly joking about Taysom*

Those are just a few examples. It isn’t far-fetched and i would love to see it because of the potential.

Even Les Miles said he should have had Patrick Peterson on offense some.

Yes, many very good examples!

He's a phenomenal athlete. He has earned the right to score just one TD as a Tiger!

It’s happening, he’s been begging to run the ball since he stepped on campus. Just a carry or two, not a whole game, that would be loads of stupid.

Yeah let’s put him at rb and get him hurt in a blowout.

Would solidify O as being a dumbass

Hell, in that case, why even let him play at all?

Blows out knee running the ball.

Loses first round and possibly career.

And coach O would never get a decent RB recruit again if that horrible coaching decision was ever made. It could possibly effect other positions too.

OP is an idiot.

So we are going to risk a kid’s future at a position he’s not played at this level against a really shitty team?

Do any of you think before you post

Ed’s dumb enough to do that.

He could blow out a knee doing all that bad arse tackling that he does too. What's your point?

The point is that he is a linebacker and if he gets hurt playing linebacker, it sucks, but that’s football.

If he gets hurt playing a position he has t played since high school against a shite team the week before a huge conference game, that is just idiotic coaching.

No reason at all to risk his future for a gimmick

How would that hurt recruiting? Why would it affect other positions? I’m not seeing the possible problems you are proposing.

Now if he isn’t the best option, then I wouldn’t want him out there. I don’t really think he should play offense against Rice either. But against A&M or a big bowl game, I would be for it as long as he is capable and gives the team a great advantage.

That said, I don’t have trust in this staff to be creative enough to be effective.

But I don’t think it’s some big unwritten rule that should never be broken.
Recruiting wise, I think it would help more than hurt.

since you are a shining example of the antithesis to my post.....what will you say of he blows put his knee playing LB against a marshmallow team? Will that make his coach a dumbass? What about Saban? He is starting Tua against Citadel. Are you calling Saban a dumbass for starting the eventual Heisman winner against a team that couldn't even wash Bama's jock straps?

You, and people who agree with you, are what is wrong with college football today. If the young man wants to score once, let him score! He has played his arse off for this organization and he has earned the right to do it!

Now go take a Midol and drink some green tea. Your pussy will feel better in 3 to 5 days if you don't scratch it too much

Don't rule out Kirkland...not sure how much weight he's gained since HS to play that T. Hill-ish role but I can see them getting creative with him.
