Wow man so that was your Dad? I was about 20 rows up with my wife at the time. I saw that pole hit your Dad that was crazy man. She was pregnant so we went in right after the pole came down. We came back out and watched the rest of that arse kicking I have hated Miami ever since.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't we have a least a share of the SEC locked for that game? I'm getting old so my memory isn't what it use to be.

Was there too. Wind coming out of the portal behind me flipped my umbrella inside out and then completely tore it off of the wire frame. Weather was the worst I've ever seen in Tiger Stadium.

I was there in the student section and yes, I am also one of the ones who stayed to the bitter end. Well I may have left with two minutes left but ONLY because my buddies were begging me to finally leave.

This dumbass was dogging us over a game from 25 years ago? Loser.

Unless there was someone else in the south end zone that got hit that was my dad. I was 14 at the time. Just turned 39 today. My dad, brother and I went and it was the worst game I have ever been to with the score and weather. Small world I guess.

I liked seeing all those Hurricanes tear up as Warren Morris's homer bolted out of right field.
Alex Cora laying on his stomach screeching the F word.

Yes, I too floated through the Miami Monsoon of 88 in TS.

My brother and I were there, West Side Upper deck, hunched over in cheap ponchos, watched the whole thing. Every time the U comes on, I pull for the other team. That game should stand as a lesson for all of us, the dominant teams can fall back into mediocrity. LSU's run I believe is longer than the U and may go even further rivaling the old Nebraska, Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Michigan programs. Get ready tiger faithful, 2013 football is just about ready to get cranked up.

it was the most miserable game ever in Tiger stadium.

I was there and you're right, but the Notre Dame game that we lost and played them again in Shreveport in the Indy bowl was a bad night to. My season tickets at the time was the last row at the top of the west upper deck. I felt like I was flying commercial at 30,000 ft with no windshield. I think the temp was in the 30's and the wind had to be around 20 or so. I think it was sleeting for a while.

Was there as a freshman at LSU. I had the great pleasure of getting to clean up the stadium the next morning with about 50 of my pledge brothers. It was miserably humid and all of the trash was mush. Took us almost all day but the payoff was getting play a game on the field for about an hour. We divided the group of guys and had a blast!

On the front page of the Advocate sports section the next day, there were pictures from the game as usual.

One of them was a picture of my grandfather by himself, and the entire rest of his section in the stadium is empty. He is soaking wet, and has a scowl on his face. My grandmother still has the laminated copy of the front page of that Advocate hanging in her kitchen.

I was there... In the band. I believe it was Eric Hill that threw that bottle in the stands into the student section.
