Running back who could not hold on to the ball. Fumbled almost every time he was hit. Jimbo said he had worlds of talent but he needed to dedicate himself to the game. Was drafed and had average hands. He reportedly worked his butt off trying to improve his hands. It worked. He now seems to have great hands.

Henderson fumbled as a RB in the Ole Miss loss during 2001 season. After that he was moved to WR the next year.

He was a running back until a critical fumble in a game we lost to Ole Miss when we were driving for a TD to catch up. He was moved to WR then. Pretty much a blessing for him.

He scored a touchdown in the first game of the year against western carolina to open the year in 2000...

+1 all i ever remember from devery henderson as a running back was fumble, fumble, fumble...turned out to be a good wr though

My memory of Devery will always be the Bluegrass Miracle. I remember he dropped quite a few balls that year as a WR, but hung on to one of the most important and improbable passes.

Devery, Josh Reed, Eric Martin and Herman Fontenot are top of my mind as converted RB's who turned into standout WR's.
I'm sure there must be a few more, as LSU has a pretty good track record in people making this switch.
