This was a terrible call and I doubt the refs would have made a call against Bama in similar circumstances.

Wasn't any worse than the hot etling took while sliding.

Both were penalties though.

bullshite. White pulled up considerably and only gave him a nudge. I hate that stupid out of bounds late call when the runner veers at the last minute. It should ALWAYS be a no call unless the player is at least a yard or two out of bounds. That one call changed the game more than any other. It's one thing to call that in the MAC when there's 1000 yards of offense in the first half but not in a game like that.

You're not going to see fair officiating in a game against Bama. Get used to it. Its never going to change unless the SEC office is moved out of Bama.

was it really a late hit? looked like the bama player just fell

About 2 inches of Hurts right foot was out of bounds and then he "barely" got pushed. It wasn't a hit. Alabama players were close to the sideline and Hurts fell awkwardly and the ref called the penalty. It was a bull shite call but WHITE SHOULD KNOW BETTER! He's seen enough game tape of Alabama to know that the refs are pro Alabama and anything close goes their way.

Yep. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. You either hit him and it's a penalty or you don't hit him and he turns it up field and runs 75 yards. Meanwhile on the next series, we face the same scenario and it's a no call

There are a bazillion threads about other aspects of the game. This one is about a single penalty and whether it was warranted.

IMO, it was a cheap call on non-flagrant contact. Had Devin only grabbed a Bama players and held him indefinitely he would have incited a response then it would have been offsetting and Bama punts.

This was a ridiculous call. Especially in this game.

Our guy tackled an Alabama guy late on the second play of the game. Their guy hit Etling late when he was sliding. Both weren't called. There wasn't a penalty called in this game until 2 minutes left in the 1st half. The tone had been set.

It was awful.

That was unquestionable targeting on Etling. WHite did bump him slightly late. It's could have been called it could not have been. Player should have been ejected in the other case. The call was not consistent with how they called the game
