Rumsfield was an insensitive tool. However, this statement, as a broad proposition, is undeniably correct. The only alternative, in the context of this LSU football season, would be not to play any games until you have the athletes on the team who can run the defenses well enough to smother the opponents' offenses.

The reason you blitz is precisely BECAUSE your defense may be inexperienced.
