It kinda feels that way .We just won our first conference game on the road and got the revenge. But the excitement is lacking. For me the play calling was mind boggling again and although much more aggressive on defense at the end it seemed same ole same ole can't make a play late. T White finally did and the delay of game was our QB sack. Although White was being schooled late he stepped up and put his foot in the ground and made an incredible play. Mental toughness deserving of the number he wears. F

How bout "we have the talent to dominate our opponents, but lack the coaching to do so"? Yes Harris played well. The running game and defense were solid. We dominated MS in the first half. Then, in classic CLM fashion, we start playing not to lose. How anyone can try to defend this coach after all the years of the same stupidity is beyond me. How, as a fan, he'll as a person, you're expectations can be so low is equally vexing. I can appreciate your love for your team. But when that love causes you to ignore reality, you have a problem.

Reality: winning games isn't good enough. Some "fans" must make excuses for LSU winning so they can still be negative cry babies.

Did u really watch the game?

I turned it off when miss st got in field goal range. I went to bed pissed about the loss. Didn't even turn on ESPN this am. Woke up and couldn't believe they lost. Finally tuned into the rant. Read the threads. Still pissed off about the loss. Went and picked up donuts. Read some more of the rant and still upset about the loss. Oh but wait. Finally a thread that is not all doom and gloom. Said we won. ??? What?? LSU won??
Googled the score.
Hell yeh. Tigers win. Tigers win. Talk about a great feeling. From a loss to a win. Hell with the negative talk today. I'm going to enjoy the win today with my coffee and donuts.

This is the sad reality. I really think it goes deeper for the ranters. "We often see things not as they are, but as we are"

Lulz. Bitching about others with negative critiques, making valid points, while you turned the game off and stormed out. Only to realize what happened while you were throwing a donut down your throat. Get outta here.

I'll take a W any day. But we ALMOST got an L, and honestly, we deserved to lose.
When you play "not to lose" you always risk losing the momentum that got you the lead in the first place.
When you "pull your right foot off the pedal" you begin to slow down. Speed kills, and we have plenty. Let's play with aggression please.

I was texting updates to friends in Europe last night. My end of 3rd qtr text was very telling. Miles allowing state to hang in the game...going to be a tough 4th qtr
It's sad that I knew he would almost frick is out of victory...and you can't deny that it almost happened

I agree...
I was reading the Auburn and Arkansas boards and they are way less negative than LSU fans and ARK lost to TOLEDO.
I was frustrated by the play calling last night as well...I would like to see us pass before 3rd down, but I am not going to act like we need a new coach AFTER A WIN!
There is no way you can dress up how idiotic you are if you take that approach...

Look LSU won on the road without a warm up game in a tough environment. I see the positives. It's just frustrating cause we saw two different squads out there. The team, in my meaningless message board opinion, is so close to being pretty special. Just mix in a little more pass.

I love the mentality that we NEED more balance or we will lose 4 games, yet when we needed to go down and score last night, we did so relatively easily.
The defense was dominating for most of the game, so Miles and Co. weren't going to do anything more than the bare minimum to keep us in front. Is it frustrating? Sure, but it works. Turnovers would have been the only way we were going to lose that game last night, so I've got no issue with how conservative it was played.
Granted, they let it get a little closed than they probably intended, but I refuse to go all chicken-little after winning on the road in the SEC for our first game.

How can you think this way without giving him credit for putting LSU in position to win as well? If you want to criticize Miles for letting it get close, shouldn't you also give him credit for putting the team up 14-0 in the first place?
