Recruits (and their parents) who hear fans boo their own team ARE affected by it.
And you know this how?

there were about 100 h.s. recruits sitting next to the student section.
how does the lsu fanbase booing the team and/or the coaches affect their choice of attending lsu.
do the fans really want to affect the future recruiting classes with their negative attitude?
How would you feel if you were a recruit? You come to Tiger Stadium to get a taste of the unrivaled atmosphere of Saturday Night at TS—and you hear LSU fans all around you booing the team? Would you say to yourself, "I can't wait to play in this incredible atmosphere!"?
I doubt a single night at TS is a deal maker or breaker—there are lots of other factors that go into a recruit's decision no doubt—but the sound of fans booing and screaming for the coaches' and QB's heads will surely linger in a kid's head long after the game is over.

I think people are making way, way to many assumptions on the thought process of a 17-18 year old. 99% of recruits are going to base their decision on A) Where they have always been a fan, B) Chance to win championships or C) Chance to get to the big show. I would say the atmosphere would rank behind the location of a school. Also, most every recruit remembers the time that they had after the game with their host (if it is an official), not the atmosphere in the stadium. Parents would be the only think possibly affected by booing.

As I wrote, there are many other factors that go into a kid's decision—a single night at the stadium is hardly the top reason a recruit chooses or passes on a school. But a boo-filled stadium hardly contributes to a positive impression of the program.

However, if you think booing will have a negative impact your an idiot. They booed JL in 2008 and we signed the top class in the country. Many think we will sign another top class this year. Whether the booing is warranted or not, it has nothing to do with recruiting.
WOW!

Ok, let's turn it around...How does the standing ovation Jarrett Lee got affect recruiting???
Surely the recruits witnessed that too.
