The offense was putting the defense in the hole before the defense even got on the field

That happened exactly once last season.

The offense was behind before it got on the field against Florida and Ole Miss for sure, and Arkansas if I'm not mistaken. There might have been others, too, if I took the time to think of them, which I won't.

I truly believe that you sometimes ask questions not because you seek an answer, but because you want to see how many pages you can fill that ego of yours with. You got 8 pages going out of that impossible R J Jackson scenerio.

Seriously, why do you care what other idiots around here think about this particular subject?

and against GA, the offense went right down the field and made it 7-7 before the defense took the field...regardless of what someone thinks of Lee, I can't imagine giving the defense a pass for anything last year.

Miles believes in a balanced offense including a power running game coupled with a quick strike passing game, and Crowton delivers on both.

Considering the inexperience at the QB spot last year and this year, I expect our offense will continue to be on the conservative side until our QBs show they have full command of the playbook and are adapt at reading SEC defenses.

On defense, Miles picks the DC and leaves the game planning up to the defensive experts

On special teams, Miles is very aggressive when the odds are in his favor, and he will go for it on 4th late in games playing to win.

I wouldn't call Miles too conservative either, but I wouldn't call LSU's offense aggressive by nature. Instead of conservative, I think it would be better to describe it as a ball-control offense. Especially early in games, the playcalling leans towards running plays and short passes, with an emphasis on moving the chains slowly but surely down the field. It is not a quick strike offense looking to score every play.

This is not necessarily bad. Against UF we've fallen behind the last couple times, because they have emphasized scoring quickly. In 2007, though, our ball control style led to long, time-consuming drives that kept their offense off the field and allowed us to claw our way back into the game and ultimately win. Other times, it has been a little frustrating. When it works it's fine; when it doesn't people will criticize. Such is life.

At times, the offense certainly helped the defense fail to achieve victory. If we want to slice the fecal sandwich that finely, the offense failed to score more points than the opponents in all 5 losses. In particular, the offense played well enough to win, for example, the UGA game, but for the turnovers. But that's like saying that our defense played well enough to win that game, except for the tackling.

To put it another way - any particular finding of fault for any or all of the 5 losses that focuses on any single position group (i.e. DBs) or individual player (i.e. Jarrett Lee) or even certain coaches (Mallveto) misses the big picture of last season. Perrilloux is just as much to "blame" as anybody who actually played and/or coached(except, perhaps Miles).
