Not being able to hire a legitimate Defensive Coordinator AND then, being the first program in college football history to lose 5 games (Almost 6) the year after winning a National Championship, due mainly to the incompent defense that the Co-DC's put on the field, tends to cause a lack of national respect. That's not the kind of mistake that 3 million + per year coaches should be making.
Yeah yeah yeah, he corrected the mistake by hiring Chavis, but's that's a correction on paper only. The Tigers will have to win big time in 09 or it will only get worse for LM......
Oh yea, spoken like someone whose closest contact with a football field was playing in the band.

Some say he makes gutsy calls. I would say he makes stupid calls. He got very lucky in 2007 that they all worked out
Did you even read what you wrote. Gutsy calls that all work are not stupid calls. You're just rehashing what the national idiots say.

LSU has made Miles not the other way around
LSU made Saban also. If Miles leaves, he will end up being someone else's "god" also.
I think Saban gets respect because he acts like a hard-arse and he's nice looking.

Miles will always be hated by the media for not putting up with their shite. Remember his rants while interviewing with Tracy Wolfson a couple years ago?

His talented team had a crappy season, last season. He's responsible for that, and he's paying for that. All he needs to do is continue winning, and he'll be fine.

Honestly, Miles is not a good game day coach.
Some coaches can make a team, Miles is made by his players and his assistant coaches.
I do understand that they lost their qb last year. But regardless of that, the team still underperformed last year. They had stacked talent on the defense, especially the front seven, yet they got run on.
They had a big offensive line, yet had trouble running.
Some say he makes gutsy calls. I would say he makes stupid calls. He got very lucky in 2007 that they all worked out. Last year things kinda evened out.
But he is a great recruiter. He does have a great staff. He has a program name with excellent facilities. He will do very good at lsu.
Overall, I say he is a good coach. He is not an elite coach, but I would place him in the next level.
Problem is that the SEC has a number of elite coaches and I do not know if he is going to be able to keep up with some of them.
Here we go. Didn't we have a guy rush for 1100 yds last season?

Also, I'd like for someone to explain, if Urban Meyer is so elite and Miles isn't, then how did Florida lose 4 games year before last with the best college football player of all time? How could that be possible. All the talent on that Florida team and they lost 4 games. I'll tell you how, sometimes shite like that just happens.

The next time Les Miles loses a game at LSU with less talent will be his first.

Thank you! I hate when people just post to aggravate other people.
Les Miles is a very big players coach. It's something that helps his success. His trust in his team is amazing. Like the whole going for 4th down 5x against Florida...Miles did that because his players wanted to do that. Not all coaches open up the play calling to what the players want.
Same goes for the Byrd catch. Byrd let Miles/Crowton know he was being single covered. Byrd wanted a shot to win the game. MILES GAVE THAT TO HIM.
This is a unique aspect of Miles's success.

Not really, but it must bother you enough to create a thread about it. Who cares what the rest of the nation thinks about Miles. He is coach of the LSU Tigers, the greatest team in the NCAA. Enough said!!!!!!
