Porter hot a raw deal from LSU. Porter had no way of knowing he could possibly be a grayshirt because miles kept recruiting players in jan. and feb. (this will happen again this year with wilson, an orgeron protege as rec. coordinator)thru nsd. no, miles did not intentionally deceive porter but the reality is miles created the problem by over signing and compounded the problem by making a poor judgment and assuming that everyone would not qualify. any way you slice it miles created this problem.

the timing of this all smacks of poor administration (not lack of integrity), we just saw the raven situation where he thought he had an offer, we witnessed the dexter pratt fiasco, and the storm johnson fiasco. it seems that this staff is either poor communicators or poor managers

the frick? dexter pratt and storm johnson fiascos? i think the consensus is that we dodged a bullet with pratt going elsewhere.. and storm woulda probably been a tiger if it wasn't for a daddy who couldn't keep his lips zipped.

i'd like to see the numbers on SEC teams recruiting classes over the years.. i'd expect that 90%+ of the classes don't have everyone qualify.. at least 90% (prob 95%). seems a pretty safe bet that everyone won't qualify immediately.

Rule was supposedly approved in May 2009 to be applied this year. So Miles knew well over 14 months ago.
