We tend to do better when we are ranked preseason in the 12-16 range. Just seems we have had better years recently with the exception of the last two when we were ranked in that range outside of the 07 year.

16 to 20 is about right . 8-4 record and win the bowl 9-4 we may finish in the top 25 .

I think they were generous at #16. Until we play better on offense I am not sure we should be in the top 20.

So, we should disregard the last 3 seasons and your theory will work. Just making sure I'm understanding you correctly. This theory is 100% right 60% of the time.

16 is about right for a 9 win team that didn't beat the better teams they played last year

I realize its early but #16?

I'm very surprised. I would have expected us to be in the 20-25 range, or not ranked at all. There's no question we're under the radar this year. The only question is whether we're still flying or crashing.

Seems like a lot of disrespect. If I am not mistaken I think we were #12 or #16 preseason in 2007? I know its an early poll but doesn't it feel like a little slap in the face?

Extremely optimistic on their part. LSU is coming off of 5 loss and 4 loss seasons, have a much much tougher OOC schedule, lost a lot of talent and return the same two QB's they had last season.

16 is WAY too high for a preseason ranking.
