No- it's not, idiot.

My first post in this thread...way back on page 1:

quote:

Needs versus wants...in 2015 people seem to have a problem with this concept.

ETA: If paying $75 for a ticket to a football game is too much, so be it. But don't expect the price to drop below fair market value to accommodate your want...focus on needs.

In what possible way could I not be saying exactly that?

quote:

wut

73,000

Record breaking sales...

SEC opponents get roughly 10,000 + 74,000 or so season ticket holders = 84,000. Are we quibbling over whether or not that constitutes a "sellout" or were you under the impression 74,000 is a bad number being brought down by the price?

quote:

You're trying to whine like a bitch about being the victim of other whining for the regular home scenario- this is not a regular home game scenario.

How am I playing the victim? I have seats...I like them. Unlike many here, I actually ENJOY football season, rather than being fricking miserable all fall long. More so than anything, I find it hilarious there are people bitching about price, as if we're fricking Tulane and you'd expect to be getting free tickets at fricking Shoe Town or something.

quote:

Again, you are the only person worrying about what other people are doing with their money and time.

Yes...I'm the only one. In no way were my posts a direct response to threads and posts on this board. In fact, I started this thread...and all threads.

You do understand that there is a strong possibility that these people who "need to shut the frick up" most likely made other plans based on the fact that this game was scheduled to be almost an 11 hour drive away right?

Not only do I understand it, I've addressed it multiple times in this very thread...

quote:

At this point I can only assume there is a desire to be willfully ignorant of the point that was being made in the OP. No one could be this obtuse unless on purpose.

One more time...a few days notice is certainly a legit reason to not be able to attend, most especially for those of us who have season tickets. We already plan our weekends around home games, so those weekends where there was a scheduled road game are almost always taken.

Can I say that any more clearly?

What IS NOT OK is for the usual suspects of non season ticket holders to start bitching about the price, or the heat, or the opposition team, etc. this same groups grouses non stop about how they've been priced out by the "big money" guys, which is total horseshite. My seats have ZERO donations attached to them...only face, and if face value has priced anyone out, then attending sporting events outside of high school events are going to be too expensive all around. That's less an LSU issue than it is with the cost of living in 2015.

This is/was an opportunity for non season ticket holders to grab a great seat if they wanted. Instead, MANY (not all) have proceeded to bitch that he tickets aren't cheap enough...or the weather isn't cool enough...or the team LSU is playing isn't good enough...

It's insane that the actual point of the OP continues to be avoided in favor of arguing a point with me I've never made.

People are stupid. Heaven forbid that someone has plans other than lsu football.

We skip a few games each season and ... gasp... we don't even sell them.

The seats remain empty if family doesn't use the tickets.

Tried to sell once and the people who bought the tickets were weirdo creeps who made all of the people who sit around us uncomfortable. Tried to sell again and the people who bought the tickets were hammered and cursing/spilling shite.

So we just leave empty seats when we have other things to do and can't make it to a game.

Here are some events in the area coming up that cost more than attending the LSU game this weekend:
- Criss Angel - $56-85
- Jerry Seinfeld - $47-122
- Disney Live Fairy Tales - Up to $60
- Nutcracker: A Tale from the Bayou - Up to $43
- Ragtime - Up to $55
- Florida-Georgia Line - Up to $54
- Ariana Grande - Up to $68
- Trans Siberian Orchestra - Up to $75

every one of those are just as expensive as the game, or even cheaper. and half of these things people who watch football won't give a frick about.

I get this, but we shouldn't see any more threads about how horrible us season ticket holders are after this week.

Yeah, no kidding. That would entail them walking away from tigerdroppings though.

Since when did the date you joined a message board measure fandom?

quote:

When I go to a football game I go to support my Tigers. It is considered a privilege rather than an afterthought, as is the case for the children of many season ticket holders and these bandwagon students who are more enthralled by cheers and chants than the play on the field.

Third generation season ticket holder here. I hope you enjoy the game on your big screen HD TV. I will be at the game until the clock hits zero just like I was for the Troy comeback, the Miss St. failed comeback, the UAB loss, the Miami monsoon loss in the 80's and every other LSU home game in the past 30 years, because to me the play on the field is the most important thing.

Were you typing when I wrote this back on page one?

quote:

Nah...many get that plans were made and they are hard to undo.

That being said, there are people bitching not about plans but about pricing...and the "heat"...and the sun...and the opponent, etc.

Never mind...I'm gonna go do something else. See those of you who are going tomorrow...Geaux Tigers.

I agree. There should be a bunch of fans there. We will get mocked and ridiculed relentlessly if we don't get a reasonable turnout.
