I saw ABC and CBS local news guys with their cameras on the field prior to the game. I assume they filed a short report on the 10:00 pm news shows. It's football season, you know.

Every D1 team has 8 walkons. Only 27 of 35 roster players receive a scholarship.

Pretty sure he is referring to true walk on's or non roster guys. Those 2 or so guys that show up in the fall and help out in the scrimmages but don't practice and aren't listed on the roster. The 8 guys that aren't receiving any AA are "Roster" guys and typically in college baseball you won't know one of them from a scholarship guy.

Kirsh was a walk on and now has a spot with the roster at 35
There are some other players that are working out with team as well with no guaranteed spot.
If LSU has an injury spot available or if any others leave before LSU could have an extra spot or two or PM will leave those spots open for recruits next year.
