What does it say about our society when we claim thug life behavior is in line for hero worship. I believe the player involved should man up and get his buddy off the hook.

And hero my arse. He is helping facilitate an NCAA violation. As dumb as we may all think the rule is, frick him and whatever players are putting the program in jeopardy. Now, once caught, it is sort of stand up to take his medicine and not rat anybody, but dude shouldn't be doing that shite in the 1st place.
Thanks Mr. Bahnsen. Aren't you late to your wife's tee time at U-Club?

lsubadass,
my point is that this Fletcher Sanders guy should never be on the hook. This type of behavior should not be a crime. Fitting Sanders' actions into the elements of the crime by saying that being in possession of the cleats because they are "property of LSU", while it technically fits the elements, is just stupid.
Who knows how many cleats players go through every year during football season. When the player is done wearing them, what does LSU do with them? I'm guessing auction them off or throw them away.
So what's the damn difference if the player decides to sell them for an extra buck? It hurts nobody. This action by the police is stupid. It has nothing to do with thug life or hero worship. It is a waste of taxpayer money and our time.

Thug life behavior.
Thug life behavior. Selling shoes on ebay, as a proxy for a player, so that player can get a couple hundred bucks - you know, food/gas/grocery/clothes money - is thug life behavior.

Youre an idiot. Let the chips fall where they may
He could be protecting Anthony Jennings
We would have lost 4 games in 2011 had team sweep protected Jefferson from suspension

It's still LSU's property. It was in their possession. If LSU decides to auction that stuff, that's LSU's business. And it's theft by the player(s) and Sanders sold stolen goods.

Yes what he did is illegal and so is driving over the speed limit? But saying that they are criminals is a little harsh.

"Stolen" since LSU lets players keep almost everything they wear.
Posted on 1/15/15 at 5:40 pm to TigerBait1127
The only reason LSU is bitching is because they keep all of the equipment to sell, at a profit, later - and keep all of the revenue.
frick that. Good for Fletcher. I hope whoever he's protecting has his back when (if) he makes it to the league.

For his sake,I hope he doesn't have to take one in prison.

LSU PD: I'm going to recommend to the disciplinary committee... that you be arrested, Mr. Fletcher. You are a coverup artist and you are a liar.
Col. Slade: But not a snitch!
LSU PD: Excuse me?
Col. Slade: No, I don't think I will.
LSU PD: Mr. Slade...
Col. Slade: This is such a crock of shite!
LSU PD: Please watch your language, Mr. Slade. You are in the LSU police station, not a barracks. Now, Mr. Fletcher, I will give you one final opportunity to speak up-
Col. Slade: Mr. Fletcher doesn't want it. He doesn't need to be labeled, "still worthy of being a 'LSU Man.'" What the hell is that? What is your motto here? Men, inform on your friends, save your hide. Anything short of that, we're gonna burn you at the stake? Well, gentlemen! When the shite hits the fan, some guys run and some guys stay. Here's Fletcher, facing the fire, and there's LSU — hiding in Big Daddy's pocket. And what are you doing? You're gonna reward LSU, and destroy Fletcher.
LSU PD: Are you finished, Mr. Slade?
Col. Slade: No, I'm just gettin' warmed up. I don't know who went to this place — Y.A Tittle, Bert Jones, Booger McFarland, Thomas Dunson, whoever. Their spirit is dead; if they ever had one, it's gone. You're building a rat ship here — a vessel for sea-going snitches. And if you think you're preparing these minnows for manhood, you better think again. Because I say you are killing the very spirit this institution proclaims it instills! What a sham! What kind of show are you guys puttin' on here today? I mean, the only class in this act is sittin' next to me. And I'm here to tell you, this boy's soul is intact. It is non-negotiable. You know how I know? Because someone here, I'm not gonna say who, offered to buy it. Only Fletcher here wasn't selling.
LSU PD: [Bangs his gavel] Sir, you're out of order!
Col. Slade: Out of order — I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is, LSU PD! I'd show you, but I'm too old, I'm too tired and I'm too frickin' blind. If I were the man I was five years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place! Out of order? Who the hell you think you're talking to?! I've been around, you know? There was a time I could see! And I have seen- boys like these, younger than these, their arms torn out, their legs ripped off! But there is nothin like the sight of an amputated spirit. There is... no prosthetic for that. You think you're merely sending this splendid foot-soldier back home to the projects with his tail between his legs, but I say you are executing his soul! And why? Because he's not a "LSU man." LSU men. You hurt this boy, you're going to be LSU bums, the lot of ya. And Lalonde, Mr Dective, wherever you are out there — frick you, too!
LSU PD: [Bangs his gavel repeatedly] Stand down, Mr. Slade!
LSU PD: I'm not finished! As I came in here, I heard those words, "cradle of leadership." Well, when the bow breaks, the cradle will fall. And it has fallen here, it has fallen! Makers of men, creators of leaders — be careful what kind of leaders you're producing here. I don't know if Fletcher's silence here today is right or wrong; I'm not a judge or jury. But I can tell you this — he won't sell anybody out to buy his future! And that, my friends, is called integrity. That's called courage. Now that's the stuff leaders should be made of. [pause] Now I have come to the crossroads in my life. I always knew what the right path was; without exception, I knew. But I never took it. You know why? It was too...damn...hard. Now here's Fletcher, he's come to the crossroads. He has chosen a path. It's the right path. It's a path made of principle, that leads to character. Let him continue on his journey. You hold this boy's future in your hands, committee! It's a valuable future. Believe me! Don't destroy it — protect it, embrace it. It's gonna make you proud one day, I promise you. [sits down, round of applause from audience]
