He can tell you exactly how much a P5 football team weighs, because he put one on his back that day.

I love the long purple socks. Wish they would make it mandatory.

Hard to argue with Kevin Faulk.
But Cecil the diesel was pretty special.

Definitely on the Mt. Rushmore of LSU running backs, but Fournette is the greatest RB this school ever produced. His sophomore season he had only 52 more carries than Faulk's best season and ran for almost 700 yds more. On the flip side, Faulk has 700 more career yards on 240 more carries.

Again, Faulk was great for us and his impact on the program may be the greatest of all time, but no way he's better than Fournette.

I’d have to strongly disagree.
When claiming the best you have to look at overall.
Fournette was special, but you can’t assume he was the greatest with “what if’s”
He faced stacked boxes, but so did Faulk. He also played more games in that season you mentioned.
Again, Fournette was good, but he didn’t even give us 3 full years. Faulk gave us 4, and they ran him to death, and he never slowed down.
I would put some other running backs in front of fournette anyway.
But it’s just my opinion

Is that all you have, or do you want to name runningbacks that were that much greater to warrant “not even close”? Kinda sounds like you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Faulk Em Up! Man I loved watching Kevin play. He was so versatile and played with so much heart. A true warrior.

This thread is awesome. I’m 32, so while I remember Faulk, it was mostly his NFL career and vague memories of watching those late 90s Tigers with my dad and his friends.

He did...the diesel was amazing but I like Faulk better. Is he the best ever? Who knows because we've got a great list to choose from. Our historic top backs are the best of the best. True Tigers
