Last week, Sagarin had LSU an 88 vs UGA's 78, with 3 for HFV = LSU -7, this week it's roughly LSU 87 vs UGA 83 = LSU -4, - 3 for UGA's HFV = LSU -1

3 is a basic HFV. The one used by Sagarin. The general number tossed around as HFV for the NFL, but it isn't a sophisticated number in general, just a basic guideline.
For oddsmakers, and their power ratings sets, for quite a few schools it's 4.
Gold Sheet has a widely sophisticated HFV, where schools like Boise on SmurfTurf are a greater HFV than the norms, or in great seasons like say LSU 2007, Fla 2008, USC 2004,etc..some home teams HFV can be as high as 6 or 7.
