Yep, this is the kind of take I’d expect from someone all in for O.

May never play a down...

trying to get better QB's suited to what he wants his offense to do

Do we really know what he wants the offense to do? His only big hire was the offensive coordinator and he brought in a guy that runs the jet sweep off of motions and shifts, but said later he wants to run a spread pro type scheme. And by the way, he didn't properly vet the coordinator to see why he had moved around so much. Forgive me if I don't have a lot of faith in his hiring process.

What are you talking about? Dinardo righted the ship in the mid-90s post-Hallman.

Yes, he won some games, but he was not the answer at head coach to get us to the top of the SEC. Ed O will win us some games, but we will not win the West, the SEC or the national championship with him as our coach. If you are satisfied with 8-9 win seasons then Ed O is your guy.

How many top Louisiana recruits did Les Miles lose to Alabama?

Quite a few. But in the end it won't be as many as O does I'm willing to bet.

Thought they didn't fire him because of bama... I thought it was the offense. How many teams actually beat bama between 11 and 16. Not as many as you think.

How many years did the offense suck under Les Miles?

Not near as many as you and others believe.

Now I ask you some questions Op. What's O's record against 8 win or better teams while at lsu? What's his record against teams with more than 8 wins at the end of the season. How many times did les lose to Troy? How many times did les lose as a 21 point favorite? How many times did les lose to Ms st? How many times by 21 or more? How many times did a les coached team lost to ms st by 30? This list could go on and on.

Les beat Alabama and Saban more times than Orgeron
LSU produced better recruiting classes then Orgeron
The offense didn't really improve this year
Les Miles has a better record as an SEC coach than Orgeron by every measure and angle.

Les is not the absolute standard for "success." But for O to only match Les's record implies FAILURE on both A and E's part.

I don't think this is a given year-in, year-out.

O has yet to show he can sustain Les's level of recruiting. We barely won 9 this year against a weak SEC where HCs were dropping right-n-left.

Success will come sooner than you think and Ogeron will turn out to be one of the better LSU head coaches. Book it.

It makes me sad when people consider wishful thinking useful for determining future events. It's like people counting on winning the lottery to solve all of their problems...

I hope you're right. Right now, after 4 years of being a full time head coach, his career record stands at a blistering 19-24.

Call me skeptical.

Quit your griping about Orgeron and let's see what happens

Two losses to Alabama.

Botched staff management led to no special teams coordinator. Orgeron blindly assumed he would have the benefit of a 10th staffer and had no plan in place once that rule wasn’t immediately passed. Punt returns were abysmal and FG unit was absolute dog shite.

Botched roster management leaves LSU with zero corners, zero QBs in this recruiting class and the worst RB situation in almost 2 decades.

Publicly alienated not one, but two QB commits after he said he needed a dual threat QB and offered Tua. This was the first of many instances where Orgeron would open his mouth only to put his foot in it.

Still has zero vision for the offense, other than “playing to our strengths”. Offering scholarships to both pro style and dual threat prospects, a practice that Miles employed for a decade with horrible results.

Lost the Florida game despite being on the six inch line in the closing seconds.

Lost the ND game despite being on the six inch line in the closing minutes.

Had no plan in place to get a coordinator once Kiffin took the FAU, job, resulting in zero vetting of Canada.

Cost the school $1.7 mil because he couldn’t get along with his hand picked coordinator, which would have been avoided had he done a minimal amount of vetting.

Based his entire “campaign” for the HC hob around the idea of not actually coaching and relying heavily on coordinators, requiring LSU to pay Aranda $10 mil guaranteed to keep him.

Multiple times, when asked about personnel choices during games, he said he “didn’t know”.... because he isn’t actually coaching.

Despite hanging his hat on his resume as a recruiter, LSU signed the worst rated class since 2002.

Worst loss to State in the 100+ year history of the rivalry.

First loss to FBS school in nearly 20 years.

Following 2017 tamu game, he constantly talks about the upward trend of the program, as evidenced by their opportunity to win 10 games in a season..... then proceeds to lose the bowl game..... due to one of his few decisions as an actual head coach.

Does zero interviews, vetting, or even research on possible OC candidates. Instead he hires a friend who publicly admitted he previously didn’t want the job.

Hired a septuagenarian at the cost of $450,000 on a one year deal to coach WRs and not recruit.

Was the head of a PR disaster when he opened his mouth about Canada leaving almost a month before a deal was in place to part ways, before the bowl game, and before the signing period.

Attempted to hire his son’s former high school coach, and his cousin’s legal client as an analyst, only to back away after the PR shite storm.

Coach O, may have been a risky hire; however, as to whether or not it was a bad hire, the story is yet to be written.

I do not know this, HE IS THE COACH and all of the moaning in the world will not change that at this point.

Furthermore, some are fooling themselves if they do not believe that all the negativity does not affect opinion and even hurt recruiting.

Time to stop it. There will be plenty of opportunity if this go bad.
