I'm sorry but there isn't a soul who follows football that isn't aware that a bad QB situation can ruin an otherwise awesome team.
If people think three years of AJ can't have a negative effect on recruiting then people must have literally never followed college football in their lives.
College recruits can be fickle as frick. You guys need to remember that just because YOU and I can remember 10 seasons of Les Miles, that ain't the case for a HS recruit.
If AJ is our QB for the next 2 years then the typical HS senior recruit will have seen precisely ONE good throwing year(two if you count the JJ/JL tag team) since that recruit was in the 6th grade. As for our last national title in 2007? It might as well have been in 1977 for those kids.
A college can go south in recruiting damned fast. Hell. I can recall when Texas was a recruiting juggernaut. Now, they field Swoopes as their QB.

Good question and I think the answer is LSU made a choice, not Chief.

Yep and miles coaches like they're still in the 70's as well. I can't see LSU getting a 5 or much less a 4 star recruit coming here if next season is just a continuation of this one. This has the potential to get ugly in a hurry. Like somebody else said next season could very well be miles defining moment.

I will be patient and wait until next year, but the writing is on the wall for Miles and staff. The talent was there for a 10-2 season and it was pissed away by bull headed decisions and play calling. Results count...even in a bad year.
Program heading down at this point (IMHO). Happy New Year!!!!

The concern again has to be QB recruiting. We have nothing really of note coming in next year. Sure, that guy might surprise us but let's face it, he's gonna ride pine for 2 years.
The real issue is can we keep our better QB recruits on tap for the NEXT recruiting class if our offense is a passing shite show again? Actually, that's only half the problem. I mean, even if we get a top QB after next season, that dude's a freshman in 2016 meaning our next real hope for good QB play is from an unnamed RS Freshman in 2017.
Before anyone mentions Harris I'll just say these two things. 1)If AJ starts this fall, Harris will NEVER be the guy because he is NOT staying here till his Senior season to start. That's wishful thinking but hell....2)If BH really does stay until his senior season while AJ stinks(and he will), then you can pretty much take that as an indicator that BH wasn't what he was cracked up to be.
All of the above has the potential to cause a gaping 1 or two year hole in recruiting. I've seen what happens to teams when this happens. It ain't pretty. Even worse is, we get away with so many junior leaving because up till now, we've recruited our asses off. Just ONE bad f'n year of recruiting followed by a couple more years of junior losses an result in falling off a cliff.
College football ain't the NFL. Rosters can go to shite in a hurry.

When there are broadcasters on nationally televised games pretty much in awe of how bad LSU's offense functions every week it is not a good thing.
Regardless of the details and the how and why , Chavis leaving should be a wake up call. This guy is not a young up and comer, a job hopper. He has no personal ties to A&M . This is not as simple as " more money ". Either he sees the writing on the wall or the administration sees it and is making a point. Or both.

These exist? Hannagriff is atrocious. I cannot listen to him at all. I avoid his two hour daily talk show like the plague.

I believe things may be a little more dysfunctional behind the scenes than they look right now.
