Silver Clouds are pretty good. There's one downtown and one on Capitol Hill which is walking distance from downtown.

This Silver Clods is supposed to be close to the U..they said it's easy to get there, but I would have to walk back as the streets become one directional after the game.
...I may be putting an ARGOSY Boat trip and they leave from other areas, so I may have to move closer to where the DEPARTURE docks are ?????

When I go I stay at the Hotel Monaco downtown. It is nice downtown. Lots to eat and things to do. I have stayed at Crowne Plaza too and it is OK.

I looked at some of the hotels on this list and, while they are located in what seems to be in a "prime location" as far as stuff to do is concerned, I chose a cool-looking smaller hotel near the UW campus.
It's called the Watertown Hotel (rated the #1 hotel on Trip Advisor, FWIW).
Not saying it's the bomb when it comes to Seattle hotels, but I wanted something cool, nice, at a reasonable price (got a room for $149 a night thru AAA) that was close to UW and an easy drive/ride to other downtown attractions.
Here's the link to the Trip Advisor writeup for the hotel: LINK

I've got a reserv. at the Comfort Suites Downtow/Seattle Center at 601 Roy St. Anyone know anything about the area?

that's on the northern outskirts of the downtown area, not really in downtown. you'll be closer to the university though and you're still on bus routes if you want to go out after the game. walking isn't too bad either, i've actually parked at key arena (which is right by your hotel) and walked through most of downtown

Not bad then I guess - it was cheap + its got a microwave/fridge and I want to stay for 5 or 6 days so, if I can save $80 a night that really makes more a difference - more money to spend partying

GOT a single room with a king bed for my lady and I at $129! 1 mile from the stadium! I figure going downtown will be easy enough on transportation or a cab back late night!
Super excited to drive up from San Fran for this game!
Whats the best way to get tickets in the LSU sections for this game?? Thanks!

If you stay downtown, there is free bus transportation in the downtown core...so no problem getting around from the south end of the Seattle Center (where the Space Needle is) to Pioneer Square.

The UW (40,000 students) won't be in session until late September, so the University District won't be too crowded.
Any of the hotels mentioned in the first post are good. Westin is OK location. Sheraton is connected to the convention center and closer to all the shops.
Wonder where LSU 'headquarters' will be?

Out of curiosity do ya'll know if you need a passport to go to BC or if your drivers license is still good enough?

currently you still don't need a passport, but that is only because the law change was delayed and the delay only lasts until summer 2009. so there's really no telling whether you'll need one by the time the game is here

rileytime-when was the last time you were on Bourbon Steet? Bourbon Street and the entire quarter are cleaned every night, trash is swept up and the streets and sidewalks are hosed down every day! don't be trashing n.o. if you haven't been there in 3+ years!
