Strange some Tiger fans simply can't admit the same thing about their own coach.

whoever that coach may be. some fans are like little spoiled titty babies. the coach is never good enough. saban was not annointed until he left believe me. there was lots of flak when we lost to uab and others. he had the benefit of arriving after the tepper fiasco. i already feel sorry for the next LSU head football coach, whoever and whenever that may be. after two consecutive uber successful hc's the next guy will arrive with a big ole target on their backs.

It's hard for me to feel sorry for anyone making that much money to be involved with a sport. The guy is treated like a God by most. Anyone in the spotlight is going to be criticized. It comes with the territory.

Another geek that can't discuss football so he attacks Miles' supporters with juvenile remarks.

a few pasts posts from our friend beejon

I wouldn't want anyone else as coach at LSU. Nobody's better....

If I had a son playing football and could choose any coach for him to play for it would be Les Miles.

quote:
I realize there are great schools and great coaches out there, but I know of no better coach than coach Miles and none with higher character.

quote:
100 years from now when the stories of LSU football are told, the legend of Les Miles will be one of the favorites.

I count myself lucky to be watching this history, which may never be equaled, in the making.

quote:
If Lee was strong enough to take us forward, Lee would be playing more. It's not because Miles dislikes Lee and likes Jefferson, it's because as a coach he sees and knows each player at a level the fan cannot.

I trust Miles' judgment on this. I think Lee has great character and it seems that the offense runs smoother when he's in, but that's just me sitting and watching a game on tv. I don't study the game films, I don't know the intricacies of coaching, I'm just a fan.

I've never had a question about Miles' character and I always gave him the benefit of the doubt concerning coaching decisions...until the NC game. No doubt every coach has bad days, makes bad decisions, the ball doesn't bounce their way, players miss assignments, ect., ect, ect., but the question of the thread was, "How has Miles improved as a coach?". I stand by my answer, I don't think he has improved and the NC game is a very good indicator of that. Would I trade him for another coach, no not at this point in time BECAUSE of his character, not because I believe him to be significantly improved as a coach during his tenure at LSU.

I've never been a Miles basher, even during the very bad coaching in several games, but the NC game showed a serious flaw in the coaching ability of Miles which was only briefly seen before, IMO.
For an entire game it's as if he didn't have the ability to change directions when it was very plain his game plan wasn't working. Where was the coaching improvement during that game is all I'm asking. To me, it wasn't there.

Miles is a good guy and has character but no, I don't believe his coaching has improved during his time at LSU.

After the arse whoppin in the NC game, I think Les will be more focused in the future.

Well i guess since you said....and i quote..."Nobody's better", there isn't much room for improvement.

not because I believe him to be significantly improved as a coach during his tenure at LSU.

again...and i quote..."Nobody's better"..."I know of no better coach than coach Miles"

"Nobody's better"

there's nothing worse than a fan that flip flops because of one game and completely disregards everything else. ridiculous. and like you said...

but whatever.....you still sticking with your 8-4 prediction for this coming season genius?

I feel the team's play has gotten progressively less sloppy since he started. Maybe it's just me. Few fumbles. He does z great job eliminating the fumbles which seemed to plague the offense a while back. Seems like the 2004-2006 teams were always fumbling.

Les Miles has the best winning percentage of any LSU coach in history. He's won two SEC championships (tied, most in school history) and a national championship. He has LSU entering the 2012 season ranked preseason #1.

And, if you believe some of the ignorant, ingrate rantards in this thread, he's accomplished it all without making any improvements whatsoever as a coach since he first got here. . . Ridiculous.

Yes, I'm sticking with that prediction.

Are you saying that Miles has significantly improved as a coach during is tenure at LSU? If so, where was the tremendous improvement during the NC game? Less than 100 yards total offense and 5 first downs for the entire game. What coaching improvement produces such stats?

i don't know....it was a shitty game all around. but i'm not ignorant enough to base everything off of one crappy game (a NC game at that)....especially after they had just completed the greatest regular season in school history and won another SEC championship.

thats just retarded
