re: How much improvement do you expect in your offense?

Look, I'm not saying that Ware won't be the best RB for LSU next fall, but (1) I highly doubt he'll be better than Ridley was last fall, and (2) looking at statements like this...
Can we at least agree that the LSU fanbase's love affair with Ware has almost NOTHING to do with on the field game performance so far?
He really hasn't gotten all that many opportunities to shine. He's still just a wildcard, and doesn't get me any more excited than several other LSU RBs. That's all I'm saying.
When it comes to listing players on the roster who are reasons why LSU will be awesome this year, I don't think he makes my top 15.

There had been write-ups that say he was running timid and didn't know all of his blocking assignments. I haven't heard anything but positives on Spencer Ware.

hg is right CFBfan80. That is the most retarded thing. (and no hg, I have NEVER ever seen a true UO fan like this before).
CFBfan80. You know, I can see your logic and the reasons why you listed each team. Although for your Grandpa, mother, father, that is them, not you. Just because a close family member is a fan of another team does not mean you have to be. I can however see if a sibling is playing for another team or such. And honestly, I have no problem with whoever you follow. The problem is you are advertising it. The easiest way to take care of this problem is to just erase your sig. If you do not, SEC fans, and LSU fans are going to give you shite for it every single day and twice on Sunday. And they have a right to. It makes you look like a bandwagon. Even though you are a UO alum, by you flaunting and advertising so many teams hardly a soul will take you serious on this board or any other, and that is a fact. You are new here, not many LSU fans have seen you, so just erase your sig and you are golden.
I remember last year on the ESPN boards and this SEC fan came in there. His name was Manofwar. And for his team, who he was a fan of, he listed like 8 different SEC teams. lol, team SEC. We in the PAC(and other SEC fans) gave him so much shite over that and not a soul took him serious. And dude, its all in your phrasing. Just say, "I also happen to follow this team, that team ect." Cause the truth is, you either bleed your team's blood, whatever color, or not at all. And then one just follows the rest. But a true fan is a fan of 1. Even if you have a kid, or sibling on a another team. You just support them, of course, but only as long as they are playing. As soon as they are not on the team, boom, dropped. You can only bleed one schools colors bro. A guy who has a 6 way split for loyalties has no loyalties at all. And that is the truth.
That is why you see many fans, heck many in here, LSU fans who say, "out of the PAC teams, I pull for Oregon". And ya, we all have those. But we are not a "true fan" of those teams.
Anyways, drop your sig and your golden. And explain not your reasons to no one except in a private chat room and your golden. If not, please do not say you are a Oregon fan. Just say, you are a tOSU fan who is rooting on Oregon for this game or whatever. These LSU fans are going to pounce the crap out of you with that. And I don't blame them, I would too.

That's also what most of the LSU fanbase on TD is thinking.
We have some fans that think Landry will be the #2 WR to start the season or that Freak Johnson is already the best DT on the team before stepping on the field. That's different because they have nothing to base it on except for high school footage and what is written on Rivals/Scout/ESPN/etc...
Ware has displayed his abilities in a big game in front of national television. If that isn't pressure then I don't know what is. I obviously can't convince you that he is legit before he puts it all out for display again this upcoming season but I will tell you that I am on the Ware band-wagon based on what I saw in the Cotton Bowl and not what I read on Rivals.com.

Speaking of which, how is it you are a LSU fan but list Oregon as your team? What, are you pulling the trick of putting on the enemies uniforms to disguise yourself? See below... you use the word, "we have" in your 4th word not to mention all the rest.

A few things... We have had too many hiccups with the old system with crowton-- possibly asthma This year should be a much *improved group from last year, we won't set records Out defense is way too stout to allow an 'Oregon clinic'

It's hard for me to agree with that since he did look amazing in a big game and prior to that game, 90+% of the fanbase was in the Mike Ford camp with some up in arms because Ware jumped him.

Well that's not going to happen. The guy flat cannot read defenses, make quick decisons, and throw quickly deep over the middle of the field. It will absolutely, positively NEVER happen.
did you not consider JJ's 09 passing to be average? not good, average.

I still want to see him lined up at FB.
Posted on 6/12/11 at 12:56 am to ATLTiger
JJ's 2009 passing was definitely far far below average.

right. ppl were always waiting on Ford to break out, and after showing a few flashes in some of the late games (particularly Ole Miss), the thinking was that he was finally ready. pre-Cotton Ware was somewhat of an afterthought.

He ran the ball 10 times against an outmanned team that was in the process of getting demoralized and steamrolled. BFD.

This!
The o line will be lights out. We lost, for a while, a great blocker in Will Blackwell at the first snap of the first game last season. He was ahead of schedule and played again before our season ended. (look up will Blackwell block against auburn 2 yrs ago if you want to see what he can do.) Lonergan is great at center and we have excellent RB's, WR's. Call me crazy, it wouldn't be the first time, but I think JJ will be great in the season opener.

I would be ok with this if Ware will still get the ball. I wouldn't mind seeing a Reggie Bush/Lendale White type combo with Ware/Ford or Ware/Gore. Taking the ball out of Ware's hands would be a huge mistake. I would also hate seeing JC Copeland not play fullback. That kid is progressing nicely and has the potential to be better than Quinn Johnson by his senior year.

Hey LSU. I have never posted this comment yet. When I saw your spring game, I said, "who is that guy". And it was Ware. I know spring games are not all that, however I think you have one hell of a good RB with Ware, just saying.

I know you recently hired a new coordinator, so there should be some hiccups in your offense when you move to a new scheme.
If you saw our offense last year, I don't know how anything that will be on the field this year could have hiccups. Our offense WAS hiccups. lol

Am I missing something with Ford? Granted I can't find entire LSU games on the internet but Ware looks like the best RB and it's not even close. Blue looks better to me than Ford. Hell, If I were LSU, I'd prefer Ware, JJ (dual threat keeps the d honest), Shepard (fly sweeps), Blue, and then Ford. As much as LSU claims to be loaded at RB, I think there is a lot of drop off after Ware.
Ware would be the biggest loss of anyone on your roster from what I can glean.

I think Ware has the ability to create some mismatches and do some special things. Time will tell.

Ford is a game breaker
He might only get 5-7 touches a game at most but he can take it to the house
Don't expect him to be the bread and butter of the offense but expect to see him make big plays. Wouldn't shock me if he ended the season with under 70 carries and something obscene like an 8 YPC average.

False, Ware and Ford are neck-and-neck when it comes to running ability. One offers more power while the other offers more speed. Ware was just further ahead mentally and fit the profile of the big bruising back that was Steven Ridley. Gore is a big sleeper and there are rumors that he will be the change-of-pace for Ware. Blue is a heck of an athlete but is starting to look injury prone. Watch out for Kenny Hilliard in the near future.

I really couldn't say because the sample size is so small. Ford's gym rat numbers just don't seem to be transferring to the football field. Ware looks like an intense runner. Ford seems to go down easily from the limited perspective I have.
Ware looks like the real deal to me. As a Duck fan, he seems more dangerous than Ford. Homerun speed doesn't bother me. I could see Oregon focusing a lot on Ware and JJ going off. JJ, for all the flack he gets, is a pretty good runner.
