mainly b/c 10 yrs from nobody will remember or care about the personal awards that JR(or any player for that matter) won, however MF will always be known as the starting qb for the 2007 NC football team.

Arky was a pretty huge game in '07 that should have cost LSU a shot at the NC

Better watch it. That sounds racist to me. You can't use that kind of language. The PC police will be all over you.

You are correct, sir

And whoever said the 06 schedule was harder, is just dumb as a stump, and cannot be even led to the truth

06 - LSU played against 7 teams that went to bowls, who had a bowl win percentage = .429

07 - LSU played against 9 bowl bound teams, who had a bowl win percentage = .556. Also, the overall winning percentage of opponents was higher in '07

It's not even a close debate. The two toughest teams we played in 06, we scored 13 pts. The two toughest teams we played in 07, we scored 66 points.

Huge difference. Better offense, with less skilled players than 06.

LSU played four top 8 teams ON THE ROAD in 2006.

We may have played more bowl team in 2007, but 2006 was definitely a tougher schedule.

GTFO of here with your first post Matt Flynn is better garbage.

The schedule was the only thing that kept us from a NC in 06 tigger.

schedule hurt us a lil in 06 but jumbo and miles game plan vs the barn is what stopped our title shot. If they had a real game plan we beat au and go to the sec title game for a rematch vs uf. IMO we win that and we stomp all over tosu

The tougher 07 schedule was exactly the reason LSU was the 1st two-loss team ever in the BCSCG.

Also, playing "highly ranked" teams in 06 means they were overrated. When the final BCS polls came out in 06 we had only played 5 ranked teams; in 07 it was 6.

07 = tougher schedule anyway you look at it
higher opponents overall win %
higher out of conference opponents overall win %
more bowl bound teams
higher opponents win % in bowl games
more BCS ranked teams
against more conference champions

What about in terms of extremely highly ranked teams played on the road?

To say that Flynn is better just because of the NC is silly. The NC we won with Flyn was basically by default because no team to some extent, really deserved it that year. We backed into it! I am happy we did but to say thats the reason Flynn is better is just plain dumb.

Why should that make a difference? The SECCG and BCSCG are not played in Tiger stadium, and they are always against highly ranked teams. We expect to win those, right?

By saying we only lost 2 "on the road" doesnt offer much support of your argument against the team that only lost one on the road (in 3OT, BTW)

neutral site =/= on the road in your opponents stadium

LSU didn't play any good teams on the road in 2007. All of their games against good teams were at home.

2 losses vs Top 10 competition... or 2 losses to teams what were ranked 17th and unranked at time...
Which looks worse?

Matt Flynn won a NC that is the only argument anyone can make for him being a better QB. Statistics prove Jamarcus was better of the two.

Who ever thinks Jamarcus was dumb? What is your opinion based on? The fact he made less mistakes than Flynn or the fact he did not win a NC.
The cards did not fall right for us, in 06 as they did in 07.

Does it really matter?

I mean Flynn brought us something JaMarcus didn't (not saying couldn't) and JR put up great stats

Even though Flynn did have a 4 TD game in the national championship game against #1 ranked Ohio State, and JR NEVER threw 4 TDs in a game in his 3 years.

But really to be a great QB you need to perform on the NFL level in my book, which Flynn will never do, and JR we will just have to wait in see

Flynn had a huge hand in that SECC game

BSCCG in the dome is far from playing in the Swamp, to even draw that comparison is laughable
