If Independence Stadium was upgraded, the loss of ticket sales would be a lot less. More like 15k.
Tiger Stadium Capacity approx 93,000
Independence Stadium Capacity 53,000
thats 40,000 more seats. Explain to me why or how Shreveport would "upgrade" a stadium by 25,000 seats when they only have 1 meaningful game there a year and usually don't sell it out.

This hit the nail on the head - this is the true reason why it should not (and will not) be played at a neutral site. I do, however, take offense to Shreveport being constantly labeled as a shithole. I have lived in several areas around Louisiana, and my husband and I chose Shreveport to live in - his business grows every year, my children go to the top public school in Louisiana and we like the small town feel with the conveinances of a city. Don't knock someone's hometown, especially if you've not lived there. I certainly wouldn't condescend to rip your hometown without ever having lived there.

Well then let's alternate it TS, SD - LSU sites and Fayetteville, Cowboys stadium in Arlington- Arkansas home....

I would be happy with it just being a regular game that alternates between Fayetteville and Baton Rouge. War Memorial stadium sucks, bad. The only reason that this doesn't happen is everyone freaks out over not having a big game in Little Rock and also having the game the day after Thanksgiving and school being out which doesn't seem to hurt attendance at LSU though. I would worry if we played East Central College of the Blind the day after Thanksgiving, but not LSU...

This subject has been hashed and rehashed. It use to be about money, now its about money and more than likely TAF, oh, thats money.

a lot of people in shreveport should push for it since that was the last independence bowl they're going to have

"I know LSU would never do it because they have to make all the money they can, but I think it would be neat."
A lot of North Louisiana LSU fans wax nostalgic about this from time to time, myself included.
The Tigers played Arkansas and Baylor in S'port as late as the 50s (Baylor in Billy Cannon's last season). When John McKeithen was governor, he pushed expanding then State Fair Stadium from the original horseshoe holding ~30K, by extending sideline seating upward. His intent was to resume an annual game up there. This was however limited to a single game with Rice in 1975.
Construction of Tiger Stadium's original west upper deck in the late 70's, combined with the financial arms race among colleges that took off in the 80s, made any chance of an annual game (or even intermittent one) unfeasible.
While I hope the Tigers are never in position to be considered for the I-Bowl going forward, at least they know if that should occur, they have a second, though smaller, home awaiting.

ea, the Weed Eater bowl would have to get some substantial upgrades to even have a chance.
Seriously? I have been in both Independence Stadium and War Memorial Stadium in recent years. Independence Stadium is far and away the nicer and more modern stadium. I understand that this game is not feasible for reasons already discussed, but many of you have obviously not been in Indy Stadium in the last 10 years to have seen the upgrades that have been made.
