I still dont understand this arguement. He took a UNT team that won 20 games over 5 years prior to him becoming HC and ended up averaging 19 wins per season during his stay (190 in 10 yrs) and 21 wins per season his last 6. That's a huge turnaround. For a program with zero historical relevance in a state filled with schools trying to get players, he was able to get big time recruits a few times.
UNT has more 20 win seasons over the past 10 years than LSU. That is what JJones brought to the table, and for me that is pretty damn good. Especially cause he loves LSU so much.
Not sure where you are getting your numbers from. I count 187 wins over 11 seasons.
I am almost sorry I checked, because his overall record is clearly inflated with a cupcake non-conference, his overall conf record is 97 -95, and he only had the best regular season record in the Western half of his conference ONCE in 11 years.
I think he can do well, but you should probably try to be honest about his record, especially with all of the help he may have gotten at North Texas (it appears that Dale Brown co-coached the all-star team with him).
Ironically, his starting point guard from 2007 through 2011 was a 3 time all state point guard from ... (drum-roll please) ... Baton Rouge.
I can get pumped about an LSU coach, but I would like to see them get win number one first.

Hopefully the coaches won't wear those god-awful sweater vests.

Not a very masculine look IMO.

I was pretty skeptical at first, but I'm all in now. Not like we have any other options at this point.
The sweater vests were so bush league.
