2) The buyout can be paid out over twice the time he's under contract. That means it can be split over 8 years at $1.875M/year unless he gets another job in which we have to pay the difference in his salary to bring him to $3.75M.

So pay the new coach $2M/year for being the coach. Let him earn his check, pay him $1.5M for an undefeated season, $1M for an 11 win season, $750k for a 10 win season, and so on. Seems like a sweet deal to me.

Job security is bullshite.

I don't think Mich is that interested in hiring him after yesterday- they are keeping their guy at least another year

1) Miles will be owed the remaining terms of his contract if he is fired without cause. That's $3.75M/year for 4 years (2010-2014 since he got an extension as of the 8th win this season against LaTech). That means his buyout will be ~$15M

Reason why Les is going nowhere right now.

LSU better also have someone they know will be a sure-fire success in hand before pulling such a trigger, because its going to be tough to sell LSU to other coaches.

Bull. Florida and Bama both fired coaches with winning records. LSU can do the very same, unless you are in the Joe Dean camp and think LSU is only worthy of 6 or 7 wins a year and that is good enough.

Like i said in another post earlier all we need is a hooker, an 8 ball and a private detective and we have probable cause and very cheaply I might add.

I've been saying it for a while. Schools need to really sit down and think before they give the world to these coaches. LSU is hurting themselves with this stuff. Guarantees should be set up diff, and TRUE performance measures should be in place. LSU boxed themself in the corner. There should be something that says a coach can't go in the SEC for 2-5 yrs and coach against us. They've gotta throw them on the table and say this is how it is.

Why would any coach not want to get paid a lot of money to come to a team that's won 2 championships this decade and is a perennial recruiting power? Because Les Miles has a winning record and the championship from 2 years ago and we want him gone? All those other coaches across the nation have TV sets. They know damn well why we want him gone, and I'm sure most of them would be salivating at the chance to have what he has. What am I not understanding about this?
