I don't disagree. But I also think you have to find a way to get your best players the ball in creative ways. The mundane offensive plan doesn't work as well when you are up against teams who are built to stop what you do. Not adapting is an issue and has been for quite some time now.

Seems to me his philosophy should lend itself to a high degree of execution as it is not overly complicated.

Les is an easy going guy who with a great deal of passion. That passion has gotten him a long way including a National Title and an appearance in another. But I think his age is showing and the level of passion and exuberance he can deliver to his players is waning.

hb dive into several 300lb guys on 1st down
hb dive into several 300lb guys on 2nd down
hail mary pass on 3rd down while qb runs for life on 3rd down

That's a philosophy problem.

Sometimes you have to trick somebody. Why do you think Washington crossed the Delaware on a cold-arse night? Even Fournette has lamented that there is no plan B. Heck, how bout a Plan C...whatever it takes to win! And btw, don't wait til 5 minutes left in the game to go to your hurry-up offense. It is "philosophy". As long as your's is working...fine. When it's obviously and utterly failing, it's time for a different philosophy. Against some teams, you're not going to be able to tell them you're gonna run off right tackle and you can't stop me! Whew, I feel better now.

No matter how it boils down it all leads back to coaching no matter how you to want to look at it

In game changes have to be made, they never are. Also, going in to every game with the exact same game plan doesn't work when you're playing good teams

Agreed -> When the teams goes up against top tier teams that have been coached and schemed on how to focus and negate the opponent's strengths, it's difficult to execute properly when the other teams knows what to expect.

Very hard to beat physically equal players that are well coached when they know the play on the first read or worse yet presnap.

Execution is the name of the game in every sport. You minimize mistakes by repetition in practice and study of the opponent. I think it's a fair criticism that LSU football under Miles has not executed well in various stages of games throughout his tenure particularly on the offensive side of the ball. I don't have 15 million to give to Miles so whether that lack of offensive execution should get him fired is up to someone else.

Miles is playing pong.

The rest of college football is playing call of duty.

It's not his philosophy. But he's using the most antiquated form of that philosophy. At no time in modern college football should you only have 1 wr on the field unless it's 2 yds from the goal line

in essence "I'm not sure what to do next but hopefully my players bail me out".

I'm not applying.

And, yes. People have been complaining for years.

I like Les. But his offensive philosophy will be his downfall

Yes, there is. There's something REALLY wrong with it, and if people can't see it by now, you'll never see the issue.

And it goes beyond philosophy.

We have focused too much recruiting on skill players than the front 7 on defense and the front 5 on offense. We have all these WRs and TEs, and a ton of DBs.
