i'm not bashing Lee. i think he will be a great qb for us. does anyone else notice that last night and against MSU that he is having trouble putting a lead on the ball. you see a lot of passes were the receivers have to break stride to make the catch. i know it's part of being a freshman, but it is something that needs to be corrected.

Not leading receivers properly is often a problem for inexperienced qb's. In hs, receivers rarely run precise routes, they usually round them off and never come straight across the field. Those are the routes he had trouble with. In college, the receivers routes are much more precise. Plus, with the pressure he was feeling, he reverted back to old habits. Give that boy a little more experience and he will be fine, especially with that arm and toughness. I thought LSU would be somewhere between 8-4 or 10-2 before the start of the season. They got to #3 this year based solely on their rep of the past few years. Give it time boys, they will be okay.

Lee wasn't so bad last night. He's still young and inexperienced - but he showed signs that he can lead. That opening drive in the 2nd half, and the last drive of the 1st.

The first interception he threw was a definite sign of his inexperience. It appeared that the defensive player baited him by looking like he wasn't covering our guy, waiting for him to throw it so he could run up and snatch the ball.

Then of course he threw another interception - and of course he had several inaccurate passes.

But if you look at the passing stats from last night Lee's are almost identical to Tebows - except for the two interceptions. Lee had 60.5% completion rate, Tebow had 66.7%. Lee had 209 yards passing. Tebow had 210. Both had two TD's.

The fact that Lee was able to pull off that many yards passing when the Florida defense knew they had our running game completely shut down is a good sign.

I think we have our next great QB. He's just got to play a few more games. This season is going to be painful and I don't think the pain is over yet, but this kid can play and I think next year you're going to see something great.

amazing how honest evaluation is seen as treasonous hate all of a sudden. Lee played fine. He is the least of the problems LSU has on the field. Just chalk this season up to gaining experience and breaking the hold that elite status has held for a few years. Lee is fine, just look for continued improvement the rest of the season for Lee and the secondary.

I think the problem is, we have a very passionate, reactionary fanbase.

Remember, a lot of these same people wanted Miles gone after the UK and Arkansas games. Same people that wanted Pelini gone way back when after the Tennessee game (remember way back when in 2005?).

Everyone's vision is 20/20 when they are commenting after the fact.

It's a bad loss no doubt. But it is better that this happens now than against Alabama. I cringe at the thought of what the rant would look like if there was this type of performance after the Alabama game.

Although we do have great fans, they are quite spoiled.

He's going threw growing pains now. He's not a good QB now, but that doesn't mean he won't be a great one in a year or two. Ex: J. Russell & Rohan Davey sucked their freshman year

PASSING...
Cmp-Att-Int.....Yds.....TD.....Long.....Sack
23-38-2............209.....2........24..........2

those 2 INT's hurt, but his completion % was over 60% which is some improvement, his accuracy needs to be improved further, which will come with experience. All in all, his first really big game as the starter, on the road, the nerves showed early on, but he gained his composure. He'll be a good one.

He's a redshirt freshman QB with 2 starts. What did you except in Gainesville Tommy Hodson or Bert Jones?

ok first things first you can expect a defense to hold a team when our offense cant get a first down and our defenses backs are against the wall every time they get on the field..secondly the run game suffered because jarret lees inability to stretch the field or even throw a 5 yard pass for that matter...he was wayy of throwing the ball behind recievers all night so you cant even use bad pass protection as an excuse because those are 3 step drop quick pass plays...as long as we are unable to pass the ball teams will have their safteys playing 5 yards from the LOS

Okay guys, I am confused. After the Auburn game everyone thought he was the next best thing to step out of Tiger Stadium. After last night it was a different story with you guys. I understand if he has a good game next week people will be posting about how they did but not really talked to him in IHOP. As a Tiger fan I need to know what to think about him this week.

Jordan Jefferson, need a chance to show what he can do. Lee, has a good arm, but he gets nervous when he feels pressured and doesn't make good throws and decisions all the time. Hatch, has a below average arm and is not that good as a runner. I am sure that Jefferson has an arm that is as good or better than Lee's and I am confident he has better running ability than Hatch. All three are young and I think Jefferson, deserves a chance to display his talents. Hatch and Lee appear to be worse than Marcus Randall, who did however help us win at Florida, I know that he was a fifth year senior when he did so.

You must keep in mind most of these people are fricking stupid.

The only notable problem with Lee is his lack of experience.

Anyone that makes criticisms other than that, or directed toward his talent are fricking stupid and should be castrated to avoid creating any more stupid human beings.

"ever think the run game didnt get going because lee's inability to throw a bubble screen or anything beyond 10yds?"

You are beyond stupid. His inability to throw a screen pass, or anything past 10 yards? Are you seriously retarded? He obviously completes passes over 10 yards, and it doesn't even matter if he does complete most of the screen passes that aren't bubble screens, because the receiver / back is getting nailed off the bat. How about Hatch's inability to even throw the ball more than 35 yards, or even give a hand off, for that matter. Or how about Crowton's horrible play calling.

Yep, Lee is going to make mistakes, he's a freshmen. Anyone who's calling for Jefferson or Hatch needs to have their head checked.

You're comparing a freshmen's loss to a 5th year senior's game....
The only player which I feel messed up was McCray on that ball he tipped, other than that, it was a horribly managed game. Crowton's play calling has been lackluster at best, and usually despicable with all the ridiculous screens he runs. Not to mention the co-defensive coordinator BS needs to go, and we need to find a real DC.

Would you please go to the LSU site and check the quarterback stats for the last two meetings with the Gators.
Flynn 14-28-1 24 PTS
JR 24-41-3 10 PTS

Lee was not the reason for the loss.

Not sure anyone os advocating JJ or Hatch as replacements. But JJ needs the experience. Should be put in for a couple of series in blowout wins or losses. If lee goes down and JJ hasn't played, it's over.

I thought Lee played fine. Not many QB's could have done well in the swamp with so little running success. I think he will be one of the better QB's we've had at LSU before he leaves. And he's not the worst now!
