I have loved listening to Doug my whole life. A lot of classic memories with him however, there comes a time to move on. Obviously, I don’t listen to the radio broadcast that often, but I happened to listen to one last year and he is clearly not what he used to be on the call.

Borne’, Doug, Hawthorne…time to let go guys. LSU employees have a lifetime contract for some damn reason. Move over and give others a shot- Jacob is a great replacement and hopefully will keep the job past this year.

I listen to nearly every game on the radio. I’ll miss him but wish him well and thank him for his years of service to the team.

Think it's fairly obvious why. Generations of kids grew up listening to them, so they're as much LSU tradition and the "feel" of LSU football as anything else.
