Tuptiger, so you think the reasons you stated above prevent one from being a quality NFL starter? That is strange because those are the same things still said today about two-time Super Bowl champion Big Ben Roethlisberger. Most every one would consider him a quality starter.
Ben Roethlisberger is a quality starter. I disagree that he shares those same qualities.
I think Jamarcus Russell has the Aaron Brooks disease. He glides by on his tremendous God given ability. It comes so easily to Jamarcus Russell that the intricacies of the game are overlooked. At LSU, many times Jamarcus Russell would put the ball in a place where the receiver couldn't run after the catch. Granted, the receiver would catch the ball, but the throw was a fraction off. I see the same problem today.
Today, the Saints put seven on the line of scrimmage. Instead of going on a long count and using cadence to identify the blitz, the center would snap the ball and it was obvious he didn't know where the pressure was coming from. I know the Raiders offensive line is dog shite, but Jamarcus Russell bears a lot of responsibility as well. Watch Peyton Manning, Kurt Warner, Tom Brady, Drew Brees one Sunday and then watch Jamarcus Russell.
Quarterback is the one position I know really well and that is what I see with Jamarcus. Many of his problems are detail oriented, but if he hasn't taken the initiative to learn at this point in his career, I lean towards saying he'll never be a "quality" starter.

Nobody is arguing that Jamarcus is in these guys class only a tard would compare even them.

I'm not comparing them either. The previous poster asked why I believed Jamarcus will never be a quality NFL starter. I was giving an example of quality NFL starters who have become proficient at certain aspects of the game where Jamarcus has fallen short to this point in his career.

Tom Brady looked pretty average when his oline got dominated...just saying
btw, he is a hall of famer...but u know the QB position
which still made him the best QB in the NCAA that season, hell even today he was pretty accurate despite the poor play surrounding him. I guess inspite of throwing 68% he still wasn't accurate enough
ahh, they've had 2 coaching changes, a terrible draft, the head coach breaking the assistance coach's jaw... and he's still had a descent preseason
for the youngest QB in the NFL, he has actually done alright and led his team to some victories over descent teams. He threw some good passes today (drops + fumbles) but i guess that is his fault, throwing the ball where his receiver has a 1st down
really, maybe a couple of times...but not really that much. Did you watch the same game. Do you really think the Saints were trying to show the NFL plays/formations we're going to run in the regular season
