I am not making any assumptions at all - other than the fact that a 5th year in college is very unlikely to improve Landry's draft status over where he would have been taken after 4 years. He isn't likely to get bigger; he isn't likely to get any faster; he isn't likely to suddenly learn how to run better routes; and he isn't likely to develop better hands.

Just like Stevan Ridley in this 2011 draft. He is what he is - and staying an extra year in college was not likely to improve his draft status.

I honestly can't imagine what you are still disagreeing about. How could anyone dispute this???

You have no idea about any of that. From what we're hearing out of summer workouts OBJ has out-shined him to the point of Miles even bringing up that he could be one of the first true FR to see the field this year. Who knows how Jarvis is going to translate into college. To say he'll leave early is equally as baffling at this point.

That's not why he left at all.

Likewise.

"Leaving after 4 years" does not equate to "Leaving early".

If you would just stop, and think through this, it would become clear. You keep arguing "around my point", as opposed to just letting it sink in:\

"It is very unlikely that Landry staying a 5th year (an extra year, if you will) is going to improve his draft status. It doesn't matter what his draft prospects are going to be. It could be Top-10, 2nd round, 4th round, or free agent. It's immaterial. He's gonna be the same prospect either way. Therefore, he might as well start getting paid."

I swear it appears you are just arguing for the sake of arguing at this point (as if you think there is some kind of "winner" in this). It's not a competition. And mentioning Beckham really has nothing to do with nothing.

Yet you keep coming back too because I think you're nuts. That extra year COULD make Jarvis more money if we're going to play "what ifs" here.

ETA: Like what if Jarvis has a shitty 4th year and projects to go as an undrafted free agent? Would that 5th year be necessary?

Finally, a reasonable post on the subject. Thank you. I have no idea what all that other shite was you typed up before; or why it took you 5 posts to finally respond to the subject at hand. But I applaud you.

Look here Paco, you were equally as hard-headed as you were/are acting like it's just impossible to believe that Jarvis won't be drooled over by NFL scouts.

same shite was said about terrance tolliver. guess what, he could have used that 5th year.

and you have no idea what the draft class will look like wr wise in 4 years or 5 years. it could be stacked the 4th and completely void the 5th in which case landry could make a lot more money staying the 5th year.

your arguement is retarded. many players can and do improve by staying a 5th year.

JL needs to gain weight, are you saying an extra year of college couldnt improve that? same goes for the 40 yard dash. being in a college training program helps these guys prepare and up their draft stock. The 5th year has helped many many players and im sure there are many players like TT that wish they would have redshirted after what they know now.
