It shouldn't have came to that, we gave Mississippi St. the momentum and will to get back into the game. They were dormant until we had those guys thrown out.

This. Baseball is such a game of momentum swings and Javy handed it to them with a play at the plate (2 actually)

That changed the whole game. We let our best hitter and prolly the best hitter in the SEC try to drive in a run and we put our foot on their throat

Anyone remember the statement by CPM saying "I know what changes need to be made, but am waiting til the end of the year to do them." Yea, he was talking about Javi (or assistants in general) but Javi is so gone now

Hopefully so, let's hope this isn't Pauls Lou Tepper.......he has been with javy a long time.

It was shocking to see Mainieri coaching third base in games 1 and 2. I thought, well, either Mainieri was doing it to ramp up his attention to the game rather than sit in the dugout ranting to himself, or he had little faith in Javi. Well now we know the answer. Imagine what LSU could have been doing the last two years with a good third base/hitting coach? The talent we have has been huge.
And Ott? Well too bad you cannot pull scholarships. But we do owe him a National Championship season, so I would not pull it if I could. He needs to start practicing hitting and being a middle reliever, at most.

Scholarships are not 4 year things anymore, they are year to year, so in reality we could see Ott off the team next season, but I doubt CPM does that.

Why blame Ott, Grewe can't coach his way out of a paper bag.....he takes absolutely forever to call the signals, and most of the pitchers who are upperclassmen have gotten worse not better.

Good grief.........I hope this isn't true, if so we are a helluva lot of trouble. Hopefully he has the stones to run him, or at the very least demote him to bat boy/equipment manager/anything where he has no real interaction with the players and we can get someone competent in the fold.

LSU's base running woes have been driving fans crazy for the past couple of years.

Well then, Coach Mainieri needs to help his Godson find a gig coaching 2A high school baseball or selling copy machines or tending bar or whatever the frick, because the kid is an albatross around his neck right now.

Are yall crazy? So you want to pull the scholarship of one of the best pitchers on the team? Besides Gausmann and McCune there isnt another pitcher on the team I would want with the ball in his hands at the end of the game. I know he has struggled at times this year, but what other options do we have out of the pen?

I've been sitting in the stand for over twenty years and other than one certain 3B coach, Sanchez has been the worst at that position. His decisions are terrible. They cost the team the game tonight, at least that is my opinion.
He might be a great guy but I have to wonder if his youth is against him in working with the guys. What do you think?

Ott screwed up, but he has not been nearly as bad this year as last. Next to Gausman, no one else has his kind of stuff. If we did not have him, who would have come into that situation tonight (pitching 2 innings for a save)? I'm royally pissed at Ott, but wow -- without him...what is the bullpen ERA? Berry is not good and Dykstra is the only one who I think has a shot next year at being reliable. Eades is not in this conversation anymore, as he is a starter now.
Anyway, yes...sanchez has been here long enough. BUT, you cannot blame this season on just him and the coaches. Players have to play with some balls and I see little of that from this club.

Sending Rhymes around w/ 2 outs and a blistering hot Mahtook due up was bad enough...but how in the frick do you attempt to send Watkins from 1st to 3rd on an infield hit w/ 2 outs and both Katz AND Mahtook due up?
say what?! that didnt really happen did it? i missed the game...
