JJ doesn't play defense (Ark game)
JL played most of the Miss game and again, JJ didn't play defense that game either. The defense barely played defense.
You must adore interceptions.
You're kidding, right?
Florida -- defense gave up 44 points
Georgia -- defense gave up 38 points
Lee doesn't play defense, either. When your defense can't stop, it doesn't matter who your quarterback is, you won't win.
And I don't know how many of you remember, but the Alabama game shouldn't have gone into overtime. Not with Chris Mitchell dropping a game-winning TD bomb in the fourth. Nor with receivers all around dropping various excellent passes. Lee didn't go something like 18/40 in that game by himself (though, to be honest, he could have and probably should have done better).
And what about Tulane and Troy? LSU won both games, if you remember -- and Lee only, y'know, led the greatest comeback in LSU history against Troy. How in the hell are two WINS -- something Jefferson doesn't have compared to Lee as a starter in the regular season, by the way -- including the greatest comeback in LSU history a BAD thing?
Right now I think Jefferson is the frontrunner as well, but use a LITTLE logic when you're arguing something.

thats because he threw ANOTHER pick 6 and did absolutely nothing for the first 3 quarters against troy. why dont you want to talk about the other 3/4 of that game?

Why you guys cling to Lee... is beyond me. Of course we might need him as a back up, and with injuries, God forbid, we might need him to start. No one is writing him off as his future at LSU is concerned, but get real.

If JL starts, I'm gonna go visit Les with a tire iron, a la Tonya Harding. Although that probably wouldn't stop him from making anymore suspect decisions. Love the guy. Respect the guy. Thankful even, but the mixture of co-DC's and JL letting the opposing defense score at will killed us this year. Keep JJ #1 and Tiger nation will be A-OK.

what a luxury to be able to argue about this situation!
ive given this PLENTY of thought myself, and i can see a number of these different personnel scenarios mentioned in this post happening. that speaks VOLUMES for the talent and potential of this team. the versatility of a handful of skill players makes this situation even MORE fun to think about IMO. i can see Crowton REALLY mixing it up at times. Shep could (i said COULD..) eventually play up to 3 different positions (at some point or another) ..especially as he gets better. it wouldnt surprise me to see maybe JJ AND Shep at WR at the same time once or twice (not saying it WILL happen, but it wouldnt surprise me)..i think we will see some wildcat with a number of different looks, too. i think what makes this possible is the fact that JJ, Shep, Morris Claiborne(considering we dont know where he will end up-CB or WR/skill pos.?) , and "POSSIBLY" RR- ALL have QB experience and are PLAYMAKERS. i may have left a player or 2 off of my short list that also have QB experience, but that only adds to the possibilities. we also have a STABLE of RBs/skill players, too. not to mention the WRs and the redshirt freshmen RBs,WRs/skill players that are going to be available. im sure at least ONE out of the group(redshirt freshmen) will be good enough to get plugged in for a few snaps. crowton HAS to be eating this up. im sure Jordan Jefferson will get the most snaps at QB. but the window for trickery with different personnel/formations is HUGE.

DID ANYONE EVER NOTICE LEE LOOKS ALOT LIKE RUDY RUDIGGER OR SAMWISE GAMGY OF THE LORD OF THE RINGS

Lets be real in the real world of football, Right now the cards are stacked, we have 2 drop back QB's and 2 running QB's and I would not bet against a combo or mix of the 2 and everyone has to prepare for both. For fun picture this for the first Snap, Jefferson, Sheppard, Lafell and Randell at WR, Lee at QB, Scott at RB. What player are you going to key. Next play Jefferson at QB, Lee replaced by Williams, Holiday or Murply. How are you going to prepare for all these combo's. And holy cow help if some of these freshman come in play. And lets not forget we have the Offensive coaches who are not afraid to gamble. We can sure keep them guessing.

Yes I agree completely, Jefferson will remain Number one. I honestly believe Gary Crowton is going to use Russell like they did with Darren McFadden at Arkansas. He was a QB coming into college and ended up being a HB but threw the ball almost as much as Casey Dick did (lol) and if im not mistaken, he was a wide out for some snaps as well. Bottom line, Gary Crowton is going to have a fun and creative this coming season...he's got much more talent to work with...look for the offense the way it was in 2007. Geaux Tigers.

Some people on this board talk like JJ is ready to lead Lsu to another championship. I just can't see a black man leading LSU to a NC
thanks for that, Clean.

the best thing for all including lsu is jefferson and lee be the qb's redshirt shep and garrett next year. lee and jefferson will be juniors when the others start getting their feet wet. and lsu should not miss a beat during the qb change over when lee and jefferson leave.
