LSU (fans) went from him not being on the recruiting radar to a tiger overnight and it all took place after national signing day, so not many knew much about the kid.

Like has been posted here he is much like RS but without all the people saying he will never be a qb due to having (supposedly) slightly less running skill but a better qb arm. I am really looking forward to seeing him in the future. Hope he redshirts if breaking the rs only means a few meaningless snaps.

This is the other dual threat we got for the future.....I hope down the road when both these kids are starters we get to play you guys again with them. Would be a fun game to watch. I really like Jarrard....great kid, great person too. Wish we could of had him too, but glad he went a great team where he won't be pushed down the depth chart.

Oh yeah mute the music....lol...

One of Randall/Rivers has got to be ready, and play this year. JL will have some injury this year(kind of like Matt Flynn-just hard going through the SEC). Metts needs a B/U, and a ready #2 guy, next year.

No third string guy will see a single snap this season. Unless something tragic happens. They don't need to be ready just yet. Although the future is full of promise at LSU in terms on QBs.

I hope we can play with just 2, but injuries happen. Sounds like Krags is doing his job, though, from that interview.

because Randall has zero experience and JJ has nearly 2 years?

The experience factor doesn't really hold water with me regarding JJ

``Coach Tyrell booked me a lot of visits,'' Randall said. ``But I'm not going to take any. Chip said when you're engaged with a girl, you don't go [sleeping with] other girls. He said he's going to keep his commitment to me as long as I keep it to him. Even if I get hurt, I'd still have a scholarship.'' Oregon signed two other quarterbacks aside from Randall -- Texas gunslinger Johnny Manziel and Hawaii's Marcus Mariota. Randall is rated higher than both. With only two quarterbacks expected back in 2011 on the Ducks roster: freshman Daryle Hawkins and sophomore Darron Thomas, Randall said he expects to remain at quarterback and to compete right away for playing time.

Lol...I particularly like the segment I put in bold. ...so does this mean Chip was sleeping around on our guy?

You really expect Les to go with 2 pocket passers and no dual threat the entire season?

I think he could be used in a wild cat role this year to get his feet wet ala tebow in 2006 and p-loux in 2007.

Looks like Chip left him at the altar. I guess its good for the next guy.

wwaayyy better arm then shepard. But shep is definitely a better runner

that is a true bonafied dual threat qb.

I just don't see how we can still have 2 totally different qb's on the roster. Mett and randall.

IDK about you, but I don't see LSU being too great in 2013. We will likely lose a lot of talent after 2012.

14 might be a good year, and 13 will be Mett's last year so Randall would possibly start then

He's already got a better throwing motion than JJ

I responded to your thread and actually posted about Randall a few days before. With Jefferson out, I think he plays this year. Not only does he provide a different skill set, but he needs to be ready just in case. We all saw how quickly the QB position can change. What if something happens to mett between now and next fall. Could be an off field issue or an injury. But either Randall or Rivers needs to be as ready as possible. If Randall us ahead, he needs to play this year
