Who cares? I think it's fair to say that people don't expect much from JJ.
quote:Nope.
Does this somehow surprise you?

If JJ Plays at least average I imagine few people will complain.
quote:I would be among them.
If he puts 2-3 average games in a row together, most of us will be thrilled.
I would settle for a few consecutive halves.

And I certainly think Flynn should have started over Russell in '05 & '06.

There are two reasons for that:
1. You do not now, nor will you ever accept Les Miles as the Head Football Coach at LSU.
2. You have deluded yourself into believing a Butler JUCO QB is the equivalent or better than that of an experienced 3rd year SEC Starting QB.
False dichotomy, anyone?
A) You can support Les Miles while questioning his managing of the QB situation.
B) What has JJ done do show he's clearly the best option? Let's be clear. The bar ain't that high.

I think calling it fanciful would be too kind.
Jamarcus was one of the greatest QB's in LSU history.

Yeah. Just wasn't as good as Flynn.

The BCS title?

Just having a grasp of what the QB is supposed to be doing, putting points on the board consistently against great defenses, and not constantly coming up short in big games against your best rivals.

Not this shite again.
I'm a big fan of both JR and MF, but let's be clear: Flynn wasn't a world beater in our NC season. We lost two games under him. At best, its a coin toss.
that said, MF prob fit GC's offense better.

Yeah, however you fall on the subject, it's certainly nowhere near the level of ridiculousness of this JJ winning an open competition to start against Oregon bullshite.

Yuk, yuk, yuk. Nice predictable response demonstrating a lack of reading comprehension.

Oooooh. . .let's try to ridicule him down. . .

Losing to Arky and UK. . .acceptable.

Just to be clear...we will be playing a team ALSO ranked in the Top 5 on a neutral field and your prediction is either a loss or a close win? Other than straight up homers...is anyone really predicting a blow out win for LSU? How then is this prediction anything other than what we'd expect given the circumstance of the game...or is it your suggestion that with Mett under center LSU blows out Oregon?
I honestly believe that Oregon is vastly overrated. They lost a lot of talent, particularly in the trenches. We should manhandle them and win fairly comfortably. I'm not going to predict a replay of Va Tech 2007, but I do think we should win by somewhere in the 10-17 range.
I think JJ's lack of passing proficiency will result in several 3 and outs and end some otherwise promising drives. I think with a QB who can hit RS and RR in stride and actually complete a pass over the middle, we can control the game, particularly since I think our lines are going to control the line of scrimmage (i.e., both contain LaMichael James and let Ware and Ford go off for monster games).
Ultimately, I think whoever starts, we should win the game. But I think if it is Mett, we win in the double digits and if it is JJ, we hang on for victory or lose on a heartbreak. Kinda like UNC except this time either the receiver holds on to the game winning TD or the penalty is called.

No, you really didn't, and I don't care to explain why, because I don't want to talk about this Flynn-Russell distraction anymore.

What the frick are you talking about? I asked if you were serious because I legitimately thought that you might be joking, and wanted to know for sure. You said you were, and that's that, except you keep bringing up unrelated shite.
If you want to talk about the QB situation going into Oregon, be my guest, but that doesn't seem to be what you are interested in at all.
