People can't be this stupid to intentionally misconstrue everything JJ said in that interview yesterday.

I apologize if I missed this topic yesterday. I watched ESPN all night and didn't see the segment either.

It was clips from his statements last night. Have you listened to the entire interveiw last night? If you did, you would hear that he does say he will do whatever the coaches ask of him to help the team. However the media is taking bits and pieces and its being taken out of context.

I didn't hear the ESPN peice but i bet its just clips from last night. No way does LSU put JJ in that position. LSU and JJ are trying to get past that - they are not going to prolong it by putting it on ESPN.

Chances are it was just video from yesterday. If you watch the entire video he came across very well.
This is what I was getting at. I did not see the ESPN segment, but would be surprised if LSU granted JJ a national TV interview after yesterday's presser. "Very well" is a bit of an overstatement, but it was not nearly as bad as certain Twitter "excerpts" made it out to be. My guess is the ESPN crew is taking most of it out of context.

running his mouth like he did yesterday

What did he say that was wrong?

He wants to be the starter and thinks he can win it back. Damn right he should think that. He took responsibilty for his actions. he doesnt have to apologize for defending out his teamates in a bar fight. The legal stuff isnt over yet so he cant/shouldnt comment on that

I'm all for Jordan Jefferson coming back on the team and playing in certain situations.

But he needs to shut the frick up. All he's doing is ruining the team's chemistry. And all of the players saying, "We've got our quarterback back. We've got our leader back," are stupid too.

It's totally disrespectful to Jarrett Lee, the guy who got us here.

I agree it is natural for him to want to start. But in regards to national t.v., wouldn't a leader be more inclined to talk about doing what needs to be done in order to best help his team?

Q: Is it important to you to be the starting quarterback again?
A: “It’s a personal goal of mine. It’s very important to me and I would do whatever it takes to get to that situation but as of right now it’s for what’s best for the team.

Watch the fricking media session and quit deliberately pulling quotes. He was asked these questions an answered them incredibly well

It was a pretty big segment, with Reese Davis and Herbstreit discussing it. Davis said other players look to Jefferson as the leader, if not the starter. I don't know where he got that information.

The words of the ESPN hosts were "controversial," not JJ's. Sounds like they were trying to create team division, and I hope their info is incorrect.

"If you watch the entire video he came across very well."

I am glad to hear this, and I really want Jefferson to do well whenever the coaches decides to play him. But I really wish that he would avoid the cameras and say as little as possible right now. It seems that every time I read quotes from him, I find at least one or two that make me cringe - even if I have no problem with the rest of what he has to say. We have such a good thing going right now, and I just do not want to see it derailed.

I love it. Come on JJ. Make LSU distracted for this Saturday

Seriously, LSU would be stupid to give him the starting QB job. JLee has played very well so far. Unless the coaches want to absolutely frick you guys up (you have Les Miles' so who knows...), they probably shouldn't screw with the QB position.

Dammit ESPN's master plan to implode our championship season bc of their hatred towards us seems to be working among the fanbase. PLEASE don't let this affect the team

Unless JJ makes a play to win or lose a game, I think that is what we get from now on. The spot yesterday was to appease some rabid fans and reporters, he will probably go back into relative hiding now. Still waiting for someone to say if this ESPN segment was a new interview or just a bunch of clips from last night taken completely out of context.
