Guy - you need to give up, it gets worse every time you speak.
Mauck and Flynn were game managers with limited physical ability. Jordan is the antithesis of that - his weakness is game mgt but has physical gifts.
I'm done - you're obviously clueless.

Decision making ability goes to JJ.
maybe if his decision is based on the sole receiver he looks at.

Moore and Taylor are two of the top college QB's out there this year. As of now JJ isnt even in the discussion imo.

Is it April Fools today?? I'm sorry, but I didn't see any intentional groundings or interceptions thrown last night to try avoiding a sack. I saw no perplexed looks, but rather saw a leader, a Robert E. Lee field general on the last drive knowing exactly what was needed and executing it to perfection. No gangster "You can't see me" junk from him. We have a Private in army speak running our offense....he simply is not a leader and inspires no confidence.

Didn't Moore throw something like 22 TD's with 3 interceptions last year or something pretty close to that.
Moore makes good decisions with the placement of the football. I don't think interceptions are a problem for him.

This was my thought when I first entered into this thread......and nothing here has changed that.

I don't get the Taylor love. Dude threw 13 TDs last year and took almost as many sacks as JJ...

False, Mauck and Flynn were both gunslinger type QBs. They gave LSU much more of a down field threat than JJ will this year and next.

I think JJ and Moore would give us different, but equal opportunities for wins. Moore would throw more TDs, but would be accompanied by more INTs. Moore would be more exciting to watch, but excitement does not neccessarily generate wins. I think JJ will be just as successful this year with a steady, conservative approach.
Where do you come up with this shite?

This post has got to be a joke. There is no way you sat, put that much thought into your post, and came to the conclusion that JJ is a better college QB than Moore.

I have never said Moore is worse than JJ. In fact, if I am starting a team, I take him with the first pick out of those three. However, I am evaluating how their skills would translate for LSUs offense. I think Moore is exceptionally talented, but his gunslinger approach is not optimal for this years team at LSU. We need a QB to exist, not be the hero. That is the resasoning for saying JJ is a better fit than Moore would be considering what LSU is bringing to the table with talent and coaching in 2010

I agree SFP. I think JJ can be nore than a game manager as well, but he does not have to be. I think this team wins more games with a coservative approach than with an aggressive approach. I mean 1st half conservative, where we went for the big play once or twice, but mostly stayed patient and waited for our defense or special teams to give us a scoring opportunity. Not 2nd half conservative lol.
Look, I would love to see us score 50 a game and move the ball all over the field because it is exciting, but with our defense ansd special teams, we can win alot of games by being patient.
Damn this is alot to type on a phone!

Fwiw, the very concept of Mauck as a "game manager" is pretty hilarious.

Hell Flynn was more of a gunslinger/Jarrett Lee type QB. He threw a ton of INTs.

229 of 358 passes for 2,825 yards
28 TDs and 14 interceptions
Hell of a "game manager" and super efficient QB eh?

Here is my thing with Taylor I remember watching him play against us 4 years ago in the 2nd half he was absolutely TURRIBLE....awful I really felt for the kid and said he would never make it....Now yesterday what I saw was a totally different qb, yes he did still make some mistakes and throwing downfield is not his strong point but he had two passes dropped on the last drive that would have possibly led to a touchdown instead of a field goal and then VA Tech at least gets it to OT with a chance to win the game.....He got his team back in the game and gave them a chance to win after they were down 17-0....I just don't see JJ accomplishing this....Bottom line if LSU gets down 17-0 in a game this year we lose period.

If JJ throws for 2041 yards, 26 TDs, and 13 INTs, LSU will be fine. That is simply averaging Saturdays performance over the season. As boring as 157 a week would be, it may be all we need with our defense, running game, and special teams play.
Btw, I never said Mauck or Flynn were game managers. I think JJ compares closer to them statistically than he does JR. And that is what we need. In fact, he can fall behind Flynn or Maucks numbers and be fine.
