And you are hesitant to think he may not do as good at a behemoth like LSU?
Yeah I did, and I saw him raise the ceiling of a historically struggling program which is awesome. He also went 11-24 against ranked teams while at Ole Miss in an era where the playing field has been leveled more than ever, in part because he's over-aggressive in certain moments on game day.
Regardless, I'm excited about him as head coach, but it's also a different job than Ole Miss. The portal has been a great success so far, but forgive me for being cautiously optimistic and wanting to judge him based on what he does at LSU and not at his old school, and he's been here all of a few weeks. I will say I don't think he's gonna have many of Kelly's issues after what we learned in the weeks after his firing.
The one thing I know for certain is, many of the same posters bashing me in this thread are going to be the same ones pining for his firing while quoting his contract in the game day score board after his 2nd or 3rd loss, because their whole identity is tied to LSU football and they're emotionally incapable of not being reactionary... and I'll likely be one of the few defending him.

Yes some will be overpaid based on production.. But some will exceed expectations and will be considered a bargain.. I believe lane and Glasscock have a system and probably won't steer too far away from what they feel that players Worth is .. other factors like depth experience will be a factor. I think we're n Great hands. Lane and Glasscock seem ahead of the curve

You do realize Lane didn’t recruit any of the previous players to LSU, don’t you? Those are Brian Kelly’s players.
