I also graduated from Tech, but was born an LSU fan. I will always pull for both schools, but TECH is not in the same league as LSU. I don’t get the jealousy that some TECH fans have. TECH is doing well this year, but to make comparisons to LSU is retarded… bringing back the instate state games would be great, I always enjoyed going to the games with ULM and ULL.

I've never understood this. College football league? FBS? Div I? SEC? Top 5 team?

We aren't in the SEC, but I think we can hang with some SEC teams in most years (Ole Miss, Ms State, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, etc..)

The only team "in LSU's league" recently has been Alabama.

I'm starting to realize this is true. I know a few Tech fans that go to my church, and WOW....they are insanely delusional.

I think they could beat us without a doubt if we were off our game.

i never underestood it back when i was at NLU (ULM). Tech people would all come to Monroe to go out and act all "we are tech, you are not" in the bars.

why wont they play ULM anymore in football??

They're scared to lose to ULM because Ruston has a Monroe inferiority complex. It's hilarious.

TECH can hang with some SEC Teams, just not the top tier teams like LSU.

It’s one thing to have talent. TECH has some really good talent, but to be in a league with LSU you need that kind of talent at all positions and at least 2 deep. Ask Missouri and the Aggies… they have a lot of talent, just not the as deep in talent as LSU, BAMA, etc..

I give the Dawgs a lot of credit for what there are doing and I pull for them. It’s just different when you play with the elite teams.

Monroe is an absolute hell hole filled with white trash and big rims, while Ruston is clean, quiet and has the highest per capita income of any city in the state. When I lived in Ruston there was a clear superiority complex in regards to Monroe. You can say whatever you want about Tech being scared to play ULM because it is somewhat true, but please don't try to say Monroe is somehow better than Ruston.

I took a sports marketing class when I was fricking off toward the end of school. The associate AD taught the class and said almost these exact words

There is no benefit to beating them and a huge downside to losing to them

Kind of, but kind of not. What if I said, "Utah State is not in the same league as BYU" or "Southern Miss is not in the same league as Ole Miss." What am I saying?

Well said LoneStar...albeit I would drop any talk of tards...

In any case, so I believe that most Tech fans would think that games against other UL schools would be good to bring back a sense of local rivalry. As stated earlier that Tech won't play ULM because there is "nothing to gain and everything to lose." Trust me, that's a cop out.

However, I feel that after the 09' game that Tech did honestly put a scare to a lot of fickle Tiger fans that night...especially after the halftime shock. Following that game, LSU cancelled the following LSU/Tech matchups for the next couple years. Perhaps this due to the same reason why Tech won't play ULM...because LSU is risking too much with no gain to play Tech. Just throwing it out there...

Besides, why would LSU risk anything to fellow LA schools? It's the same reasoning Texas would never forfeit their Longhorn network etc. to come to the SEC...they risk losing too much. LSU has almost the whole pie in LA...not that I don't love LSU...but I understand why they would rather risk a loss to an out of state school rather than an in-state school.

Oh yeah, 100 pages...
