I think Hanover's errors lately has taken him out of the lineup more than his bat. He will be fine at 2B next year. I would like to see him get some pt in Omaha for the experience though.

And Mitchell should NEVER sit for Landry. Even though he struggles mightly against lhp, he is still the better choice.

Oh I definitely agree Helinihi has played supberly at 3B. His bat has been a real nice surprise.

Hanover is kind of the forgotten guy with the "emergence" of Helinihi. For the better part of the year Hanover was the 1 constant in our lineup. Tough break for him, but the team seems to be playing better without him now.

Well I think that Hanover will be great next year and a good pinch hitter if we need him, but it seems like the pressure gets to him in the big games. His routine errors are at crucial times and we have to remember that he is only a freshman. I'm glad Helenihi gets to go out on a good note also being that he is a senior.

I thought Hanover's wrist was hurting him?

In any event Helenihi is not only a better fielder but arguably a better hitter. The batting averages are about the same, but Helenihi has more power -- he has a .494 slugging percentage, while Hanover is at .434. They have each hit four home runs, but Hanover has almost 3 times as many at bats.

Helenihi also walks more, as his OBP is .378 as opposed to Hanover's .354 (which is surprisingly low for someone with a .317 batting average). There's a real argument to be made that Helenihi should have gotten a lot more at bats this year, especially against lefties.

He's also a senior. He should've been putting up those numbers from the jump.

Hanover's season is much more impressive when you factor in experience.

I guess this is true on some level. But you don't set your lineup based on potential, or what kind of a hitter you think Hanover will be three years from now. You set your lineup based on who is better now. And it looks like Helenihi is having a (slightly) better year.

are you really that dumb? jamarcus had an incredible junior year and completely dismantled notre dame. maybe we shouldve started matt flynn in the sugar bowl that year according to your logic.

Definitely. Helinihi has his game face on. I just hope teams don't realize that you should never throw him a fastball.

You really have comprehension problems don't you.....I don't have time to conduct a special ed class for you right now. Suggestion read s l o w l y and get a 9th grader to help understand.
