He had grade issues and qualified late as well. I think 2 years JUCO and maybe see where his head is. It might be worth not cutting all ties similar to how Tech did with Dakota Allen.

So it sounds like the “gun charge” was just carrying a concealed handgun without a permit.
All such laws are infringement upon the 2A so he didn’t actually do anything wrong.

I read. The cocaine part demands some discipline since it can mess with your heart, not something you want while trying to compete at a high level.
But the gun thing is a non issue. Shall not be infringed.

It's sad when kids do stupid things. I never had a drug or gun charge but I did put myself in a position to be forced to join the military. Obviously kid has talent, unlike myself, and can right the ship and continue his career.

I called it A year and a half ago and knew he wouldn’t make it at LSU and even got banned for nearly a year for stating my concerns. The gun thing was minor in the grand scheme of things and LSU went out their way to help this kid be successful. He needs to grow up, but I wish him the best of luck going forward.

I taught in a Jefferson Parish middle school just before I retired three years ago. Our dean of students - responsible for discipline issues - had transferred over from Ehret H.S. His attitude was “Don’t bother me unless someone is in mortal danger.” Ehret had the reputation (still does) for being a school that was out of control. If I were Coach O, I would be hesitant to recruit any more athletes from that environment.
Oh, and that useless dean of students? He’s been elected to the Jefferson Parish School Board.
