I wish the mentality of mediocrity would die at LSU.

I've seen "mediocrity" as defined by a lack of success by LSU football and this ain't it.

The idea that you see 9-3 in the regular season, a 3rd place finish in the SEC, a national top 17 ranking, and an invite to a major bowl as mediocre, only shows how for out of touch with college football reality your dislike for Miles has taken you.

"Point: 2010 is a big season to determine if we're trending up or down."

I very much agree with this. Some of those who are saying "Down" are explaining away 2004 as a "blip" due to QB play. Seems to me you could make a similar argument about the last 2 years due to the Perrilloux troubles. Eventually, though, Miles must work through these issues and get back to the 10-win plateau and competing for championships. This is a big year for Miles.

come on, you can't really believe that???

Actually I think the next three years will be as good IF NOT better than the first three.

I think we have more talent starting this year than we have EVER had and I think Les and the team are hungry.

Our schedule might be a little too much to pull it off this year, but we'll be in the hunt.

Next year however, SHOULD be a title run and with the looks of the 2011 class the best might be yet to come.

That IS what I can and DO believe.

(My only fear is that Rich Rod will suck again and you Les haters will have beaten on the man so much over the last five years that he says C-ya when UM comes calling. Other than that, I expect him to be our Joepa!)

When will you realize that 10 wins now is just like 9 wins before we went to 12 games. It gives us another rent a win. Go back and see how many times LSU has won 9 games and then revise your statement

You really want to say that? Miles Won 11 or more games 3 times in 5 years. You can take away 1 game & Miles stll has Three 10+ win seasons.

But your boy Saban....would fall off the list in 2001. Leaving him with 1 good season out of 5.
10-3 or 11-2? Can you add?

I hope you're right, but after the last two years, I just don't have faith in this staff...

WOW... so, if we have the most talent than we have EVER had we should be in the 10-12 win range this year right??? so if we win 8 this year you would say it HAS to be coaching and not the talent, right???

But your boy Saban.

Well Compare your boy Miles last three seasons vs Sabans last three seasons.

Do you think it is easier to recruit for LSU post Saban or post Dinardo?

both have won a SEC and NC in the last three seasons so what's the point?

they both won with players recruited mainly by other coaches, is that what your trying to say?

Worse. Including Miles' first year, which you specified, the average record from 02-05 was 10.25 wins and 2.75 losses. After his first year, 06-09, the average record is 10 wins and 3.25 losses.

Not a huge change, but I think we can all agree that the program now doesn't look as great considering the best two seasons in the last four years came in 06 and 07, whereas lsu was winning the west every other year before

You really should get out more. This staff is not the same as it was 2 years ago. Completely new defensive staff, New RB & Recruiting coordinator, new TE's coach & new WR & passing game coordinator.

Ah.....but the Good Old Days! Ah the discipline, the work ethic & they "Had 'dat Fire" huh?

You must have been so proud!

the two most glaring problem areas from last return the guys responsible. How much can a new RB, TE, and WR coach do when everything starts and stops based on how the OL and QB perform?

Another thing no one seems to be considering is the SEC is a much better conference now than when Saban was at LSU. Saban got his arse handed to him by UF his first two years when the Old Ball Coach was there. During his most successful years, Saban had the benifit of coaching LSU at a time when Alabama was on probation and UF was being Zooked. Those are two of LSU's biggest conference opponets that we play EVERY year. From the time that Saban was at LSU to now Florida has upgraded their coach, Alabama has upgraded their coach, Ole Miss has upgraded their coach, Arkansas has upgraded their coach, MSU has upgraded their coach, South Carolina has upgraded their coach, Georgia has the same coach and the jury is still out on Auburn but they just brought in their best recruiting class ever. The division races are no longer 2 team races. Each division has 3-4 teams that expect to compete for the right to play in the SECCG.

where in my post did you see me say we didn't have a staff change?? i said i didn't have faith in this staff... stop reaching...

BUT, the man that called the plays for the 112th ranked offense in the land is back in the booth this year.... Now that would have been a good staff change.. NOOOOOOO, lets just run off the WR coach.. YEAH, he was the problem all along.....

but the Good Old Days

i bet Mr. Carter only made that mistake once.. which is more than i can say for Less' time mismanagement.. and Less gest paid nearly 4 mil a year...
