Now you blame JL for our losses? Wrong, the head coach is the one that decides who the starting QB is.
You can't really be this stupid, Can you? Deciding between two freshman is not really deciding. Mistakes were going to made at the QB position last year. Once RP was run off, the coaching staff knew what kind of season it would be. Why do you think RP got as many chanches as he did? None on the staff wanted the type of season we had last year but in the end it was what the program needed to grow and get hungry once again to win championships.

. If you look at how the players miles has recruited rank in comparison to what saban has recruited miles is ahead.
Well Saban did have two #1 classes and a #2 class while at LSU (01, 03, 04). Also, Saban had more big time players that made the difference in winning big games to this point (granted, Les hasn't had as much time, but he has had three full classes and the 2005 class to this point)

Just from looking at saban's record while at LSU, there were a lot of years where saban just had a mediocre year, the problem was, LSU had been bad for so long that those years were seen as really good years.
But you have to take into consideration what Saban came to. He came to a mediocre program that had below average recruiting and results for most of the 90's. He turned this program around, and similarly to what he inherited post Shula in Tuscaloosa, he's turning Bama around.

But when miles got here, all of a sudden, people expected perfect years, even though saban only got close to that mark 1 time. EVery other year it was at least 3 losses. I think that miles gets absolutely no respect for the resume he has built while at LSU. He has put numerous good players in the NFL regardless of who recruited them, he still coached them. he is a very VERY good coach.
Miles does get slighted, but he inherited a powerhouse, so he doesn't deserve the same credit a coach would get from bringing up a bad program. You can't expect him to get the same media love at LSU as Saban when Saban had a much tougher task. I like Les, but he hasn't proven anything yet to separate himself as a great great coach. There are a decent amount of coaches who could have had similar success as Les while at LSU from 05-07. What he did in 05, by keeping his team together despite all the challenges they faced, was great coaching. 2006? 2007? 2008? I just haven't seen it that much.

Alex, I don't think you understand the concept of the recruiting rankings, and why you have to
shall we say, read past the cover of the book.
Anyone can be #1 by signing 32,35,37 players.
Alabama has signed more players than LSU has,
every year, for three straight years now.
Hell Saban already signed 85 players.
How many are actually on the team?
Now look at Miles signees.
Miles has retained more than Saban has.
---------
And here's another way to prove my point.
Forget the #1 class. Look at the entire picture.
Take all the players Miles signed, EVER, at LSU.figure out the star ranking.. for EVERY player, you'll understand that Miles 4 year CUMULATIVE star average (we're talking over 100 players now)is nearly as high as Saban's best year ever in recruiting.
I'll go ever farther.
[b]Take Sabans' best three classes at any school..anywhere, & compare it to each kid Les has recruited, and you'll see what I mean.
[b]Miles has a higher ranking.

More OPINIONS (LOL!) ---
When it comes to college recruiting, it not about
the pros, it about the colleges. It's about filling needs.
Miles is better than Saban in that regard, Saban can take a kid and convert him better than Miles can, but Miles usually has so much talent available, he doesn't need to do it as much.
How many times in the last 4 years has Miles nailed the #1 QB, the #1 corner, the #1 safety, the #1 wide receiver?
Think about it.
---------
Since the resurgence of LSU football, actaully
back in 1998/9(counting DiNardos talented kids on
Saban's first few teams),two things are obvious.
Louisiana has enormous talent, eastern Texas has enormous talent, and MS/AL/FL all have enormous talent. LSU can tap all of them, especially TX,
better than any SEC school. That's why the facilites were so necessary, given the close proximity to the talent. You can thank Mark Emmert, not Saban, for that.
Furthermore, with no real in state competition,
LSU has in fact become the recruiting monster of the new SEC millenium, something only a couple teams can match, even nationally.
Miles is a perfect fit for the enviroment.
This is why, over time, as high school football has evolved in Louisiana, there is NO excuse for LSU not to be a top ten team year in and year out.
LSU never will be down, because very few can reload like LSU does.
Now, back to the comparision, after the above, and after singing like 120 recruits, you should have an idea who the better recruiter is, and not for the pros, but for the program.
So again, the evidence points to the obvious.
I assure you, Miles is the better recruiter.
Better overall, and better for LSU.
