I refuse to listen. The last 2 years have been painful enough!

Why doesn't Alleva make the guy take a damn Dale Carnegie calss? It would do wonders for his ability to speak in public.

Poor guy, he'd been better off saying, sorry, but I'm not sure what this has to do with football. By the way, do they make footballs from oil??

Although it was certainly not eloquent, and he needs to learn how to think without sayin Uhhhh, he did manage to answer a potentially politically charged question with vauge terms.
He effectively stayed off a follow up question of "how do you think the situation is being managed" and expressed both concern for Louisiana and a concern for those affected by the spill outside of Louisiana.
He was not hired for his public speaking skills. he was hired a a fotball coach. Despite the delivery being glaringly poor the content as it pertains to LSU football was carefully choosen and certainly will not create any significant backlash. Sometimes an off topic question deserves little more than a vauge answer.
Unforunately, recent elections have proven that the American public puts more value on a graceful, dramatic, and eloquent delivery than on the content of the actual message.

Hey Choctaw !!! Was waiting on you !!! can you shed some light on the subject ? or just more sheer denial ?

I will give you this: It was a bad answer.
But...
What kind of fricking question is that to ask a head football coach.
How is the oil spill effecting him and his football team? Give me a break.
If that reported wanted an honest answer Les should have said... It is having no effect at all, except it is becoming more and more difficult to get an oyster poboy.
Give me a break..yes Les babbled on but what kind of question is that.
First off, it is having no effect on his team but he certainly can not say that b/c it would be deemed insensitive.

Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves here, but he certainly knows that there is an ocean. That alone qualifies the guy to be governor of Louisiana.

Congrats bleeding...you managed not only a defense of the indefensible but were able to actually strongly support one of the worst, most rambling nonsensical answers/statements i have ever heard in my life. In all honesty that is pretty alarming and scary to this this man is making 4 million dollars a year and leading our football team.
Bleeding are you in politics or public relations by any chance?

The reporter is Clay Travis, the same guy who asked Tebow if he's saving himself for marriage. I think he asked the question hoping Les would say something...uh...not so eloquent

easy summary: crappy question, crappy answer
bingo; if he says its not effecting him, someone on here would rant about how it is affecting LSU fan's incomes therefore affects the team's economics...

Im in medicine.
Les is in athletics not PR. Many great people were absolutely horrible speakers.
a previus poster got the point.
Les knows it is not affecting the team or LSU football but he cant say that so he was fishing for a "correct" answer.

Brilliant answer to a stupid question. When Les speaks, people listen, then scratch their heads, then debate the meaning adnauseum.

What's wrong with the semi positive Miles guys? That was NOT a hard question to answer at all.
like:
many players have families who towns are effected by the oil industry,
or LSU's future as far as contributions from backers could be effected if the industry continues to be crippled by companies/rigs leaving the Gulf,
or anything that effects Louisiana's economics has the potential to effect LSU and it's athletic programs
Just anything besides that blubbering drool of conflicting semi-sentences that idiot tried to utter!!!
