It's the fault of the school systems. There should NEVER be a calculator allowed in a classroom!
I worked Tiger Stadium concessions for years, first when I was a young teen and later had my own stand. Everything was done in my head. I go to places today and the kids, even many adults, don't have the slightest idea how to make change. It's disgusting!

LSU pays different organizations to work concessions to help them raise money for things.

I went a second time and they used a calculator to add 5 and 5.
Its the pressure of school and their late night parties thats making it hard to put 2 & 2 together. They will come around. its

It's not just at LSU. I'm at the Popeye's drive-in in Alexandria the other day. My order is $9.50. I give the kid $20. He hands me back the same 20 plus 50 cents. Wow.
When I was in school, we would go to the late night drive-in at Burger King. Make an order that totals, say, $8.76. We would give the kid $17.39 just to see what he would do. I swear, one time, a kid said, "I've got to get my manager on this one". pitiful

seems to me the more "technologically advanced" our society becomes, the stupider people get w/ basic shite like this.

All that have a complaint about the concessions or anything else at an LSU sports venue, send a letter to Alleva. That's a written letter on paper, NOT an e-mail. Don't send it to one of his butt kisser assitants either, start at the top and send it directly to him. Be polite, but firm and ask for a response. I'd like to know how much this guy has his head in the game and if he really gives a shite about all the complaints that are routinely stated on here. If he cares, you'll get a detailed response. The ONLY LSU official that I ever had any luck getting an e-mail response from was Dan Radokovich and he's long gone to Ga.Tech.....

I mean, doesn't sound like a huge problem to vet w/ Alleva ... just an annoying fact of today's life ... the dumbing down of the American populace.

some students, some groups, parents, temp workers, all diff kind of people work concessions.

At McD. the other day and the total was 11.25. Handed the person 21.25 and you would have thought I'd asked the "person" to draft their own stimulus package. It's a shame and the result of lowering the bar so nobodies feeling get hurt.

I wonder if some people even read what they type. The phrase is "in other words" FYI.

The food at the concession stand is horrible and too expensive. Will never buy anything but water.

I ordered a $5.00 Coke and the kid put it in the calculator. Of course maybe I'm the stupid one for paying $5 for a coke.

that would make calculus rather impossible.
They might not be able to count, but a lot of them do have some big cans.

My friend and I were ordering food and drinks and I pointed out to the mexican cashier that someone left nachos on the counter. I said it a couple times to make sure he heard me. 15 seconds later he handed me nachos saying "You want nachos, right?

Where do they get these people?? I order a 22 oz drink (3.50) and a tiger water (3.00) and they HAD to enter that into a calculator (note there is no trackings its just to get the total only) I must have told them it was 6.50 10 times by the time it took two college age kids to use the calc. Then I hand them a 20 and almost watch their heads explode!
That's why you're watching the game and they're working the game.
