Don't know why they refuse to work on the Downfield passing game when we have these easy games though.

What made you come to this conclusion? Just wondering. He made a great catch but I think Odell is gonna show he is alot better

And throwing all over North Texas would make us a balanced team when we play Bama?

Oh, you guys only remember the losses and what fits your argument. Sorry, I'll move along.

Oh ok, thanks for reminding me. I guess we just will not count the game in January that was a fricking embarrassment to everyone associated with the program.

I guess we will just count on Bama missing 5 field goals every time we play them from now on.

You are right. We don't need a passing game.

Best player not best WR. Landry is the closest thing we have to mathieu

The copious amount of mindless fricking penalties is what has me flustered. I know Les is a players coach, but at some point he has to put a foot in somebody's arse. The lack of discipline killed several drives.

The really funny thing is, our O last year was an almost mirror image of Bama's O...run run run down the throat, with a few passes for giggles. Yet, somehow, it's our lack of balance on throwing that's a cause for concern.

Whatev, Negatigs gonna Negatig.

Is there no middle ground between what we did tonight and "throwing all over"? What we did tonight isn't going to get Mett big ready and its nots going to progress the offense. We already know we are going to beat the hell out of North Texas and we already know we can run the ball. Why not run a few deep posts, 10 and 15 yard outs, plays that involve Mett making reads? I don't expect us to open up the playbook but I do expect us to run more than bubble screens and straight fly's.

That said, Jarvis looked good along with Blue. We can all say goodbye to Mingo right now, although we already knew that. Could play his way into top 3.

If we had mathieu claiborne and brockers oand taylor on this team I say keep running it 80 percent of the time but this defense isn't nearly as good or dynamic as last years

Disagree. Hilliard, Blue, Landry, OBJ3 all looked very good.

Mett is unproven and did nothing tonight to validate the hype...albeit the gameplan was uber vaniLla.

Noone said he was Peyton Manning. He was 19/26 for almost 200 yds and he got jacked up early in the first half. This is the first time in 3 years I wasn't scared where the ball was going to go when he threw it. TD pass to Boone was sweet, the TD pass to Sheppard that got called back was nice. Almost all passes were in places where the WRs could easily make the catch. Made on bad throw on the int. He's going to be good.

More worried about the LBs

Both of these are true.

Thats correct

Why not season the QB.

Don't give me the BS a win is a win. CLM would rather play it 3 yards and a cloud of dust. Thats fine. But if a run heavy attack does not get us tom the promise land and a win than CLM should be the goat.

iMO he should instill confidence in his offense's ability to throw the ball.
but hell I'm not the head coach.

The offense is what was expected. You pussies that keep complaining about the passing game are just that. Criers. 300+ on the ground, you don't need a passing game.

How did that 300+ a game rush work against bama last year? We can't just run 40 times a game and hope that we can pass downfield when we need to against a stingy defense.

We need to develop chemistry in real game situations between Mett and the receivers so that when we need a first down on 3&12 that they have confidence it can be done.

Another thing I don't get us why Miles/stud/krag haven't changed the offense to fit the personnel we have. Option with mett really?

that's exactly what I'm saying. Build some fricking confidence is the passing game. Bubble screens aren't gonna cut it. open it up. We all saw that fricking pass Mett zipped in there for a td. Give me more of that shite.

He had a good game as did a few other guys. Copeland looked like a steam roller.

Mett has a great arm and has the ability to put the ball on the money in tight spaces. I was disappointed in his ability to read the defense and he held the ball to much.

Agreed, losing Brooks hurts a lot with TM off the team. We need to find cover guy for the slot.

I wanted to see some more of them get in

Hopefully Tahj will play well enough we don't see much of him this year.

Who said there's no confidence in the passing game? Who said what they did tonight wasn't the game plan? The WRs seem to be happy with their play. They weren't dejected like you saw last year when Amos and Andy was playing.

The only lack of confidence I see are from fans posting on a forum crying about the lack of yards.

If he hadnt had a penalty on OBDs first PR you would be saying that OBD was our best player with his 2 first half PR TDs. Its funny that his error makes him the best player.

So basically it's more about YOU feeling confident in our passing game. Mett can make the throws, the staff knows that.

We'll be fine this year and our offensive philosophy won't change dramatically. The difference will be having a QB that can make the plays when they are needed. And throwing more against North Texas won't make Mett more prepared to do so.
